In Canada can I...........
I will probably be moving to the Toronto area in the next 18 months, permanently with work.
I see you gents have a fair smattering of AR15 / M4 type weapons between you so I would like to ask a couple of questions. I will be a legal permanent resident so that is not an issue.
1. What kind of hoops do you have to jump, crawl or grovel through to get blackstick types weapons?
2. I know its an AR15 forum, but, is there an issue getting Sig 226's or Glocks?
Thanks in advance.

1. You need a PAL for any gun. You'll need to be a member of a club to get "restricted" (AR-15 et al) weapons
2. No, but if you're getting a compact glock or smaller, it needs to be fitted with a longer barrel.
Forget about CCW.

I'll have a look at the site you posted up, thank you.
In the meantime I assume a PAL is not my newest best friend.

Nah, I used to carry as part of my job..........soooooo many problems arise when you carry in a basically non-carry society. I just enjoy shooting nowadays.
Read it, I sort of understand PAL's now.
Basically you're going to have to do a written exam with multiple choise answers, and then a verbal exam with an instructor to see if you understand how the laws regarding to transportation and how safe handling works. Easy as 1, 2, 3!
Then you submit your paperwork in, and they'll check it out, and maybe call your references. Then get a range membership and you can buy restricted(handguns, really shortbarreled rifles and short-barreled semi-autos(excluding rimfires))
If you have any more questions regarding whatever, just PM me or ask em here.
How large of capacity can your mags have up there?
10rounds for pistol mags, 5 rounds for centerfire rifle mags, unlimited in rimfire mags and unlimited in belts designed prior to 1945.

How come I see so many pics of your guys' setups and you have what look like 30 and 20 round mags?

pinned mags
Oh and I'll correct my previous statement. only semi-auto center-fire rifles are capped at 5 rounds, with the exception of the Garand and rifles using said ammo belts.
