..................... well you're quite welcome

AR15's are all Restricted, by name in the legislation.

Weird deal on military rifles in Canada. Kind of a snapshot of the politics of the times. A lot of them were Restricted/Prohibited in 1992 and again in 1995, so many are unavailable unless you were grandfathered.

So no AK's, Prohibited, except for Valmet 78's which for some reason hidden deep in the bureaucracy went unrestricted a few years back. But dig this: Semi Auto VZ 58's are merely "Restricted" and longer barreled CZ 858's are completely unrestricted. Canadian SBR rules are 18 1/2" Bbls and 26"overall.

FNFAL - Prohibited. Many of various types in collections including C1's, but otherwise non transferrable since 1995.

M1A/M14 - Non restricted, except for SOCOM's, which are SBR's in Canada. Restricted. Chinese M14's are still imported and sell all day long for cheap. Same with SKS's. No AK's though.

Old school AR180 - Prohibited. Armalite AR180 "B" in Clinton Ban configuration, unrestricted. New Armalite AR180B in No ban configuration, Restricted - SBR

Ruger Mini 14, the gun that started all of this gun ban crap in Canada - nutcase used one to murder 14 female universary students in Montreal - completely unrestricted.

So you get an idea of how screwed up it is. We still have many EBR's, but you probably got it better unless you live in some ban state like CA. Support NRA, support the Second Amendment.

as long as it meets the length criteria.

A G36k was selling on some quebec gun site for about 6000 dollars. (restricted tho)

What i want to know, is why the HK 9x series were made prohib. Hk went to some extreme lengths to make them in-compattable with the military versions of each (HK94/MP5, HK93/HK33, HK91/G3) but i guess i doesn't matter anyways biggest one i hated, the PSG-1 was prohib... like a criminal's gonna buy a 10-15,000 dollar rifle

I guess we do have some cool weapons tho. I like how the SIG 552 with 20" barrel is non-retsricted nice varminter)
