 Hunting with AR-10 in CAN

Hi, does anyone hunt deer with AR-10 (or maybe you know a someone that does ). I'm asking because I know someone that would probably use his AR-10 for hunting since .308 is perfect for most game.

Does the restricted status of the weapon (according to List of Restricted and Prohibited weapons) really restrict owners to the range?

Thanks,
Nicolas.

New generation Armalite AR10 is restricted (AR15 variant), cannot be used for hunting.

Most original AR10's are prohibited, 12.2 or 12.3, definitely cannot be used for hunting.

I think there's like one original factory semi auto AR10 (Artillerie Inrichtingen) in Canada that is unrestricted, but the guy who owns it is a collector.
