Tell me about guns, or rather gun ownership in your country, please.

I under stand that you can import allmost anything, here we have to add US Compliance parts. I've heard that some (few) people can own machine guns, any truth?
OK, so say I move to BC, become citizen (how hard?), what can I own? Can you carry pistols? I had a permit here that allows me to carry a sidearm. Semi auto/full auto guns? "High cap" mags?

no high caps for center-fire firearms.
legal capacity: handguns 10, semi-auto rifles/shoyguns 5, rimfire, bolt, pump action rifles unlimited.
check www.cfc.gc.ca for all little details about the import and possesion.
a lot of guns are prohibited, namely g3, ak47, m82...
ar15 and handguns are restricted, you need a permission for the gov to take it to the range.

Thanx, brother! (P.S.--I love your "handle" tank-buster!) WOW! Seems like it could not get any more restrictive. Bloody Hell! What are law-abiding Canadians supposed to use to protect themselves against the likes of, for example, the Rochfort Bridge, Alberta mass-murderer of 4 valiant RCMP? Four brave Mounties gunned down in cold blood in a barn this past March, 2005, by a crazed felon who didn't want the Mounties to find his mary-jane stash! If slime-balls are gonna gun down RCMP, what will they do to un-armed Canadians? A chill goes up my spine!

There are approx 7 million firearms in Canada...we ain't even close to unarmed!

7 million is the quote the Govt is saying...so they can say that the registeration is working at close to 90% when in fact most groups across the board are saying its closer to 20 million
