Fishpaw's Obscura Oddities Store in NYC
Saturday Evening, we were in NYC to eat at a Greek Restaurant and visit Fishpaw's Shop - Obscura - the shop that is the Oddities Cable Show. Originally Mike had planned to be there, but couldn't make it for other business off location.
We walked into a menagerie and panoply of, well, ODDITIES. Some were familiar from seeing them on the show, other certainly for the first time.
We found a beautiful Statue / Iconography of the "Stations of the Cross" for a dear, soon to be 80 year old friend, who is an extremely devout RC. Mike did a generous (to us) asking price and we bought it! Today we looked at it in the daylight - it is gorgeous and we are sure our friend will be thrilled to receive it.
Thank you Mike! Looking forward to seeing you soon.
how are the prices of the stuff there? was thinking it would be pretty cool to go one day
Tom....Very sorry I couldnt be there. Glad you had a good time and found what you were looking for. As for 0ur prices, I always try to have items at all price ranges. We have a bunch of items in the $20-$40 range, and of course it goes up from there. Im also more than glad to give a nice ol Arfcom discount to fellow board members.

Mike - NP... we'll get together soon. My wife is still bowled over at how beautiful and serendipitous a find the Belled Statute is.
What's the deal with the coming "West Coast" Oddities on the channel? No relationship is there?

Its a spinoff with another oddities shop in San Francisco. Should help us as now there will be more oddities on The Science Channel, which also will help to increase our audience. Other than being our spin-off there is no affiliation between my shop and that shop.
