Ranges near Philly
Hey fellas, I posted this over in the PA forum...but figured I'd ask here in case any of my fellow NJ shooters knew of something good.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on an outdoor range to join in the Philly area? I live right off of 322 in NJ just over the Com. Barry bridge. So, hopefully you know something in that general area of PA, but I'll settle for the Philly area in general. Anything within an hour of me would be acceptable. If you know of anything and/or have a recommendation I'd really appreciate it. I tried google but didn't really find it particularly helpful.
Thanks,
Joe

Memberships required for the 3 ranges below, each is about a 65 minutes drive one way from your area.

On the PA side:
Colosimos 9th and Spring Garden, not a great place, but a place...
The Firing Line, Front and Tasker
Holmesburg Fish & Game on Pennypack, my brother's a member there and loves it.
Classic Pistol in Southampton
On the Jersey side (in addition to the ones' Bobby listed):
Hagues (Formerly Eagle Eye, indoor range) right off Rt45 in West Deptford. It's expensive and the employees are uptight and usually over bearing, but it's a place.
Bob's Little Sport Shop (indoor) Rt47 in Glassboro. Great little place with a sociable staff and good prices.
Square Circle in Gibbstown, never been there and not sure what it's like. I have friends that used to shoot there but don't really know any details.
USANA in Elmer. I'm a member there. Members only, but a great place to go and shoot without anyone bothering you. Many of the local PD's train there so it can get crowded on some days when there are multiple PD's there at once, but it's hands off place that lets its members shoot in peace without crazy over management and restrictions.
Delran Jr Marksmen Club in Delran. Members only Monday - Saturday but open to the public on Sundays. My dad's a member and Range Officer there and I grew up shooting there. It's a great place to shoot that's been recently renovated. It's a little rule heavy and paper targets are the only acceptable form on the HG and rifle ranges, but its very well run and organized and the members are very helpful and knowledgeable. Trap range is pretty nice too.
you could just find a blown out building by temple
Been watching this thread in anxious hope that someone would announce the existence of a little-known yet righteous shooting range that is not an hour drive from me. NJ never fails to disappoint.
Looks like I am going to have to sucker down and pay the big bucks $$ to join Central Jersey. There is one problem with CJ, however: As Groucho Marx so eloquently said; I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members.

Take ther ferry across to Camden. Lots of empty warehouses and no one would notice the gunfire.

Not sure where you are dontalo, but here's a few more Back River in Chester, NJ, Bullethole in Belleville, Cherry Ridge in Highland Lakes, Flatbrook in Layton, Bayone Pistol Range (changed names, something like St. James memorial now or something), Franklin Revolver & Rifle Association in Franklin, Tenafly Rifle & Pistol Club,
All those ranges would be 60-to-90 mins. The only convenient options for me are Range 14 (35 mins) and Delran (20 mins). The next closest are CJRPC and the range down Rt-73 by the ACE. Both are 50-to-60-mins away.

You won't be sorry. I've been a member for the last 25 years. Let me know when you want to check the place out. I'm there just about every weekend.
There's a range in Maple Shade too, but its a very tight membership. I'm not sure how you get into it. It's called Maple Shade Sportsman's Center. If Delran is 20 minutes from you, Maple Shade has to be about the same I would guess. If your interested, I can ask my dad how one would go about joining, he's on the board.
Maple Shade?!?! That must be super secret! Zero info on the internet. I can't even imagine where they could even hide a range in Maple Shade. Yes, please ask you Dad for me. Let me know what they are about.
Thanks.
Range 14 at Ft Dix is with in one hour from you.For $60 a year it cant be beat. They have skeet working on the trap range.Bow and arrow paint ball.Pistol range the rifle range is 220 yds.For the money it is the best bang for your buck!
[cut] Never mind. I'll Keep it positive.

IM inbound sir
Thanks for all the info guys.
For anyone else keeping an eye on the thread, Quinton Sportsman's Club down in LAC is also very nice. I would just like something that is NOT in NJ so all of my friends and their guns can join the party....lol
