I am looking at options for bipod and mounting system to AI AX stock.
If anyone has experience / recommendations I would be grateful for you to share

Mr LaRue has bastardised a Harris Bipod and got rid of the standard sling point attachment and replaced it with quick release rail attachment. If you already have a Harris, he also does a quick release rail attachment that the standard Harris mount will fit on to. This option is obviously a little more bulky though.

Harris with integral mount

Adapter

Thanks for the links.
Do you know how well this system holds/locks?

Will an Atlas bipod not work.

Anything compatible with the rail will fit, I'm hoping for some insight on what works best with regard to tension on cant and also height adjustment

I haven't tried the bipod but I believe they are based on the standard LaRue locking design as used for their scope mounts which are widely regarded as second to none.

Would an AI bipod fit? Sorry, I've only looked at an AX briefly. Really superb bipod (the AI).

I can highly recommend the Atlas.

Very stable, good adjustment, only drawback is cost.

No the standard AI bipod will not fit the AX, totally different design. The AI AX rifle comes complete with an Harris bipod mount. Ive had my AI AX for five months now, I'm currently using a Harris bipod but I'm going to change it as I like to load up the pod when shooting from the prone position and think its a bit flimsy. As for the rifle awsome!!!
