The Whisper.
Forget all that .300 AAC Blackout nonsense, this is the way to go

Took it to Bisley today to zero for the CQB match in April

12" Pac-Nor 1-8" twist with .300 Whisper chamber
Ase Compact w/Borelock
Aimpoint Comp ML3
Grisel trigger
Various Magpul/Larue & Samson parts
Colour: Urban Dark Earth

Ammo:
240gn SMK's over 9.1gns Viht N110
.221 Rem Fireball and modified .223 Win brass

I have to say that the accuracy at 100m is very pleasing, as is the lack of noise.
It was mentioned by one person that it seems quieter than a .22rf

Playing around with scope mounts I discovered that the Larue mount in the pic with 3" bore line gave the best trajectory with Ballistic FTE
With a 100yd zero
2.1" high at 75yds
2.25" high at 50yds
0.5" high at 25yds

Let the good times roll

Afterwards, Me Gavin Airbrush and Strangely put daisy's in our hair, exchanged cream cakes and danced through the long grass
Strangely though, did a very good impression of Shakey, poor chap

I thought .300 Whisper = .300AAC Blackout = .300/221 for all practical purposes...

Whipper's got a longer throat so will take 240-250 grainers

Remember the first time we tried it and the 240's were too long and wouldn't chamber.
Blackout is a standardized .30/221, or is closer to that than Whisper.

All the chamber drawings are very similar, but .300W is a bit more generous in the throat.

Anyway, none of that really matters, they all do the same thing and all use the same brass and dies

Thats got to be a bit loopy at that weight but I still wouldnt want to catch one.

I've used a subsonic .308 for foxes with lighter bullets and that was pretty useable to about 200 yards which is plenty in the dark.

My credit limit warning light is starting to blink...........
