Really. I got totally convinced me that I needed one of these. Urgently.

Its a original FN made browning 22 take-down; made sometime around 1950 I think (its an ealier model than most of the take-downs you see).

Obviously being old fashioned, machined and made of real (steel) metal it couldn't possibly compare to the awesome flexibility of your run of the mill plastic and (precision) die-cast-S&W 1522

Its not so tacticool as standard I know.. though I'm thinking about adding this genuine Tokyo Marui cheek piece - what do you think? Maybe Magpul PRS will do a stock to fit? I'm also thinking it needs a forward grip and extended Picadilly-circus rail for NV too (y'know..like a normal rail, but it goes round-and-round too).

Though the limitation of 10 rounds will obviously be a problem 'in the field' its reliable from stingers to subs... and with the ultimate in concealability too - hell, you can live out that Day of the Jackal/ Bond thing any time you like with this baby!

They'll proibably be on the phone to me any minute wanting a lend for review I'm thinking..

You could be right, maybe you could review it? I hear they pay 'real cash' for contributions

Nice - is that the one that loads through a tube in the butt?

Its slightly cumbersome (and definitely not tacticool) but works well enough. Very handy that its small enough to have as a second carry-around if you are out on the farm for bigger thing and decide on something smaller on the spur of the moment. Open sights are also great on this sort of thing.. its kind of like using a BB gun.. as much fun as I ever had as a kid

I think you should fit a 26" fluted stainless Border barrel and pillar bed it into an Accuracy International stock, complete with hand stop, Global Rifle bipod made of 'special' metal and send a pic to the new magazine. Make sure the rifle is dangling off a sling round your neck and you're wearing this season's tactical chic.

You really need to fit one of the M203-a-like flare launchers under the barrel...

and take a hacksaw to the barrel, fit a 50mm scope and paint it black.

How much?
More than a chicken and a duck and you were robbed.

You have not yet addressed the #1 concern of every tube-up-the-butt operator
Eotech or Aimpoint?

I hear the latest fad amongst operators is the aimpoint

Eh? Woz that then?

£100 inc a box of 120gn Sierra 6.5 SPs .

Actually, 'tis in great condition for age, few marks on stock but metalwork is spotless.. Looking at the few of that vintage I've found in the States $400 is about the going rate (can't find similar one here just newer versions); way more than £100's worth of fun though.

"chicken and a duck" deal, favourite way of paying for an old friend of some of us on here. A bit like bartering but with less useful stuff and stuff usually found by the side of the road on the way to the range.

I could do with a mod TBH.. I was using it last night alongside a modded later model and boy its loud in comparison. Despite its obvious tacti-uncoolness its a lot of fun and a nice piece of history so to screw cut it tap for a cope would spoil it.

I was wondering about the idea of obtaining a 2nd hand spare barrel and having it screwcut and a dovetail cut (later models are very common and I know of at least 1 RFD with a handful of bust ones in stock) which would at least solve the the zero problem, but I've no idea whether there would be enough material in it to safely do that and have it pass proof (one way to find out I guess).

Hmm... maybe this is the opportunity to have a custom fluted ultra heavy varmint barrel it really needs
