I haven't made any knives for a while, so to ease myself back in I decided to give my trusty Swiss Army knife a makeover.

It's got some new stabilised curly birch scales, and has had a general polish up of the metal.

This project has definitely raised my interest again, I've got a lovely Damascus steel blade that's been lying around for ages waiting to be finished so will get on to that next.

Neat
Where do you buy your kits etc?

There's a guy on here, Damascusknifemaker that does some excellent posts

I get a lot of stuff from brisa.fi and other knife making sites, but some of the more mundane stuff (brass pins, brass lanyard tube, metal for handguards & pommels, etc) I get from Homebase or B&Q. I also have a client who is an engraver, so get quite a few offcuts of Corian and various woods from him.

I haven't used it yet, but I've also got some mammoth ivory that is several million years old.

I had a nasty feeling this thread was going to be about ballbags!

Very nice.

I have a swiss army knife that i made myself.

At IWA a couple years ago Vitirinox had a stand with little boxes of componants and a device a bit like a single stage press. They were letting preferred customers build knives from scratch. I managed to bluff my way in and before you know it i had a handmade (by me) swiss army knife !!
