I've read parts of it and it doesn't seem to ban exports. It does, however, make export permits mandatory for the export of civilian firearms. It seems to be similar to current US export restrictions.
Probably, the €U have their head so far up in the clouds making laws that interfere with this that and the other that they will be shooting themselves in the collective foots sometime soon.
On a more serious note, tit for tat, ITAR rules, not.

Thank you for the clarification. "Export permits" are certainly not the same thing as a "ban" and I imagine the larger European gun companies will easily obtain such permits. I am pleased to hear that the article posted above is probably incorrect (which is not a surprise considering the poor quality of journalism these days).

Sorry for my rather flippant reply, the €U thing gets my goat. As I'm continually being confronted with the garbage that they are turning out 24/7 as if the member countries didn't have things worked out prior to their being handed the power in the form of the Lisbon treaty, for which only few member states deemed their citizens intelligent enough to decide for themselves in a referendum.
