Fuck me. I just fell in love with the Primary Arms red dot M3 clone..
And they don't sell outside CONUS. Guess why.
While Vortex, for one, has no problem going mainstream ( Midway ) and selling abroad.
I could just shift to the well-known Vortex Strikefire, but you know.. it just ain't as cool.

Did anyone of you deal wich such nonsense? Do you have any tips?
Thanks!

Then you're just putting your friends/relatives in the US at risk for violating ITAR

i'd never do that, believe me-

but i'd neither pay 3 times the price for the same item, just because of a stupid law..

there are safe and legal ways..

I don't know anything about exports.
Is it illegal to ship a red-dot sight to Italy(Europe) if it isn't for commerce?

It really depends on the red dot sight; the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security - Office of Export Enforcement makes licensing determinations to assess whether the item in question is restricted under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). A website with basic info is HERE. The U.S. Department of State may argue that a red dot sight is a Defense Article, which also may be restricted. Either way, I would *NOT* risk a potential fine or even prison time. YMMV.

Aren't most red dot sights made outside the US anyway?

At least the cheap ones?

And there's me thinking that we were your allies How refreshing to learn that the mainstream US citizen sees us €uropeans as Communists

Congratulations in five minutes, in two threads on this HTF you have shown your troll true nature.

Maybe I'm reading you wrongly and if so, I apologize, only your reply can confirm or discount my first impression's of you.

If the lady had had no knowledge of the firearm then it would have been off the wall, but she did, and after they were banned, when the UK Government held an amnesty she decided to keep it, knowing full well what the consequences were. One of my favourite US sayings is, " If you can't do the time, don't commit the crime".

For your info., I'm a Brit/Limey who stayed here to be able to keep and bare arms, and the UK gun laws were what actually made my decision for me, BTW., that was a few years prior to the Pistol ban. Here's to more liberal gun laws to the UK.

Yeah... not like those Communistic American laws regarding SBR's and suppressors! Where is NUTFINN now?

Blaming European citizens for certain draconian laws makes as much sense as blaming American citizens for OUR draconian laws.

I apologise to our Freedom Loving European cousins for NUTFINN's comment.

Keep apologizing I don't, my opinions are my opinions. I was born and raised in Europe myself, how about you? I now live in states, and like it here lots more.

I can have silencers, SBRs (Starting July 1st) and fully autos in my state. Last can took less that 8 weeks to get
I don't have to buy a permit to buy a gun, I do not have to wait for my gun after I purchased it, I don't have to have a license to have it, I can have CCW.

You can have silencers, SBRs (Starting July 1st) and fully autos in your state. AFTER complying with FEDERAL REGULATIONS. You know those commie laws that are in direct violation of the 2nd Amendment.... Our system it just as socialist now and heading down the same road.

I don't need to have been born or raised anywhere in Europe to know that.

The ones effected by ITAR would be those who have privately owned weapons (of the evil, black, politically incorrect type). You know - the ones us Bourgeoisie Capitalists like so much. You feel confident calling them commies? Doubt they are lovers of Marx and quoting "Das Capital". [://

The European GOVERNMENTS who enact these commie-like gun control laws aren't effected by ITAR. Just like ours isn't effected by the NFA. They have all the cool - "high speed" gear they could ever need or want. ITAR or not. It's the citizens who can't get it. The same European citizens who are on this site, who believe in freedom, who support and believe in not only their right to own arms... but ours - (well maybe not yours anymore... ) that your calling "commies" and letting them "get what they deserve"... [>://

The point is:

PISSING all over LIKE MINDED Europeans on this tread by calling them commies and saying they get what they deserve because of ITAR is absurd. Your blanket statement and disrespect to those in the gun community in Europe is one reason why we hear the term "Ugly, ignorant Americans".

Please, lets not have an argument over such a trivial mater, when all is said and done the respective Governments introduce restrictive weapons laws to secure their own position in power. The more they fear their electorate the more they restrict their liberty, the occasional amok/rampage shooting just gives them more powers to secure their position.

Lets take Germany's government, they are digging a big hole with the €uropean union spade, and dragging the whole country in with them, at this rate I can't give the €uropean union another decade, but according to our chosen leaders, the stability of that union is paramount to all of our futures. I find myself asking one question, what happens when the €U fails??? Do we all end up shooting at each other or do we all revert back to pre-€U starting points??? With each country licking its wounds. Judging by the way the most governments signed the Lisabon treaty without letting their citizens have a say in the matter, is more reflective of the fact that they know better, and the way Angela Merkel defended the Greece bailout confirmed our worst fears.

I personally don't care about the ITAR, as it doesn't affect me, if I want something and it's not available here in Germany/€urope then I can live without it or I substitute that item for something that is available here.
