.22LR complete AR15 upper conversions in Europe?
Hello everyone. I've just touched a Norinco M4 today at a gun range. First one ever to step onto Italian soil.
14,5" M4 barrel, 1 in 9" twist, .223 Remington. For as little as 1100 Euros.. that's a steal.
Not many places to use full power centerfires down here though, and I was considering...
Is there somewhere in Europe an importer for .22LR complete uppers?
Anyone has ever heard of one?
Hey Gladio,
How did it perform? What ammo did you use and what were the groups like? Did you have any FTF's or other malfunctions?
I have no experience with the Norinco M4 I'm afraid that the lower may not be milspec, which would mean that the V22 or other dedicated .22lr uppers may not fit. I'll have a quick search of the web for you and see what I can find.
Up till now all I have been able to find is
this as I was speed reading it I noticed that one of the posters posed the same question about a .22lr upper but nobody replied to his question

.
Give me an hour or so.
Tony
There are a few clips on you tube about the rifle, but I have still not been able to find any info on the lower, and it's specifications

.
Here's a
link to one of my local dealers, who stocks the CZ V22. There are others, but from what I have read these are very reliable.
Tony
i've got a V22... it wasnt reliable until I tweacked the extractor.. now works like a charm with all ammo's...
as for the Norinco not being mil spec, you can easely file the V22 upper to fit it... my SDI was mil spec, but still I had to sliglty file the rear hole of the V-22

That's the important bit, alterations to the upper only. I know your all intelligent people, but back when I was in sales, you'd be surprised how many ID10T's came in with their broken toys

.
Glad to see you back Patrick.
Tony
wow, you know my name (maybe I signed with it sometimes), and you knew I was away !!!? now I'm impressed...
did I release these informations and am I stupid enough no to remember ;) ?
The Norinco isn't mine, but I've been able to fondle it for some minutes. Never watched a field-stripped AR before, all I knew was from here and all the picture threads. It's owned by a very competent AR owner though... and if I can say that interior finish is excellent ( bolt, BCG, interior of upper receiver ) He was able to say that the rifle is COMPLETELY Mil-Spec - aside from the buffer tube. That is a solid Commercial pattern.
Anyway, I've seen there's a dealer in the UK for Spike's Tactical .22 complete uppers. I'm taking a look wheter there's some interest around here that makes it worth the hassle to do all the papework.
Even because Chiappa Firearms Italy is just dropping a complete polymer .22 AR upper on the market for less than 400Euros. And that'd be hard to beat.
this is my V-22 on a dedicated lower..
it was a JAM-O-MATIC until I tweaked the extractor (filed the interior face of it to make the claw go deeper on the brass) .. Now works flawlessly.

Tidy looking gun, nice.

I'd have a chat with Bradders over in the UKHTF, he builds a very nice dedicated .22 upper and i;m sure he could export one to you,
