I hear the EU Bureaucrats want to pass standarized gun laws for all member states?

Is this true?

I'm up for that.....

Though our .gov will probably veto any downgrading of our present laws...

How easy/difficult is it to be able to get ARs or other semi-autos. It has always been my impression that it's been near impossible, yet you guys sport some awesome guns. Great to have you guys on here!!!!

not as easy as in the US ..if you are a civilian there is no concept of self defense with weapons..so you buy weapons only for sport.

couple of administrative loops to go through but at the end you can get semi autos ( at least in France..)

That's why you have €uro's & cent's then, instead of the pounds & pence.

I'm all for the €uropean standardized gun law's, as long as it's based on following the Fin's fine example, and not the UK's.

Am I wrong or did the EU make member countries ban hollowpoint handgun ammunition?

Wrong as far as I know.

Britain did bring in a ban on expanding ammunition following the Dunblane massacre, but they banned handguns anyhow.
You can only buy expanding ammo and bullets if you're a hunter nowadays

The use of "expanding" ammunition has to be requested and added to your FAC as Mark stated...

I have some .44 XTP rounds for foxing... Not range friendly though as most ranges that use ballistic sheeting in the backstop hate the stuff...

Thanks

I was under the impression EU accords on crime and security mandated domestic legislation banning hollowpoint ammo for handguns.

I guess I was wrong

Hallow Point ammunitions are fine here in Italy as long as we don't use them for home defence.
for home defence we have to use FMJ ammo
