I had a couple of visitors at the cabin this afternoon.....

Actually momma bear and her cub were on the roof of the storage shed next door to my place. Apparently squirrels had stored acorns behind the log siding on the shed and the neighbors cabin. Momma bear ripped off a few boards to get to the acorns.

A neighbors dog "Motivated" them to move off back into the hills. Here is another shot of what they were going after. The brown dots are the acorns that were stashed behind the log siding:

Where was this. I saw in the paper that a couple of bears crashed a wedding in Taos. Then over the weekend there was one in the NE heights. I see one in my complex and I will shoot before asking questions...

Nice pics! I was expecting to see pics of deer.
I really enjoy seeing bears in the wild.

Stay safe!

It was up in Ruidoso. We are about two miles out of town and our cabin is in the Lincoln National forest, so we do get our fair share of critters visiting the place.....

We get tons of deer and some elk up here, but this is only the third time I have seen bears in this close.

The pics were taken from the second floor deck at my other neighbors cabin.....I was glad that I had my "House gun" (3" Model 629) with me just in case....

I guess they're all gettin' hungry- live out past old Placitas Village- had a nice young 250 pounder huffing his way over our hill last Sunday about 5:45 am- ran around in the junipers at the bottom of the hill, turned around and sprinted back past me the way he'd come- impressive speed considering he was just loping along..
