New Member just dropping in to say hello
I'm a new member up here in Rio Rancho, veteran, and firearm enthusiast. Getting back into this hobby as my ex-wife wasn't fond of weapons. Sold my HK USP .45 when I got married and now 2nd wife is wanting me to get back into it and get my CCL in the process. Can't complain about that! She's a former Orange County, Ca deputy but blew her knees out so she's very familiar with different weapon systems also. I'll be purchasing a 1911 here shortly and heading to the range with her she wants something in the 9mm variety and I'm thinking a Sig or a Beretta will do her fine. She carried a Glock but I've never been a huge fan of them (personal preference I guess) so I'm trying to steer her away from them. Well, just thought I'd say hello and if any one is selling any of the aforementioned handguns please give me a shout. I've been looking on GA, GB, EE, and Jasons quite often. Oh and if you all go to the range together please let me know I'd love to go with some people that also know what they are doing.
Kevin

Stop by often, and don't forget to post pics of your new purchases.

Welcome and let us know what we can do to corrupt the two of you.(Black Rifle Wise.)
Welcome Kevin. LnL and I are in Rio Rancho, Will give you a shout when we head to the range. Do you go to the city range? Del Norte is close ( relatively ) and not too busy. Its always good when the wife supports the shooting sports. Well, on second thought, maybe not. Still haven't gotten that M1 Carbine back from the wife.
Welcome!

Please do. I haven't been over there (yet) but it does look like a pretty good place to go get some rounds off. Is Del Norte ever crowded?
I've been to that one over on Paseo Del Volcan by Double Eagle if thats the city range you're talking about and that one is just alright, wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Just seemed like there were too many people trying to be Rambo. That said, please go ahead and let me know when you all go. Hopefully I'll have my 1911 by then. Still undecided which one I want to get but I'm pretty much set on adding that to my collection first.
edit: I just looked and Del Norte is literally down the street from me. I'm over on King/ Rainbow. Funny thing is I never even knew it was there, I had heard of it but never realized how close it actually was. Being that close I might beg and plead to become a member!
HeeHee. Don't have to beg, just pay. This being the 100th anniversary of the 1911, I have to pick up another one too. Have never seen it crowded out at Del Norte. Way more mellow than the city range that you have been to. Was out there today and had the whole range to myself. Wouldn't mind getting another trip out there this week, but not sure I can swing it.
Welcome aboard!
I might just have to. Is it even open in the winter? Probably kinda cold to shoot but poppin off a few rounds will get the blood flowing. I still can't believe how close it is to my house.

+1...it would be great if you could join us sometime. Welcome to NMHTF

!
Welcome Kevin. This is a good group of guys (and a few gals) here. I've met a couple of 'em! Hope to meet more including you.
I'm the token Arizona-can in the group. Living up north here in Dixon. 'Bout froze my ass this winter. Good thing I had apple to burn in the woodstove and a decent single malt whisky when it hit -25.
Welcome
