Just heard some good news for jonesboro

I got word from an appraisal buddy.
The old fairgrounds lot across from lowes has been bought, and Academy Sports is coming to town!! This is good news to me, as I hear they have good deals for short and long arms...

I dont know about good deals... at least not always, but they have some nice stuff outdoors wise.

My experience is that their guns are priced a bit high, unless they are on sale. Then they are about the same as dealer cost.

Their gun prices/slection isnt very good. But their ammo prices/selction is VERY good. Ammo price is on par with most online ammo dealers, and it is the only place in Little Rock where I can get .303 British, 5.45 Russian, and 5.7 FN off the shelf.

Thats what I was thinking. At least its somewhere else to go for ammo, guns, and outdoor stuff.

Why is it that with all of that wide open land up there that there isn't a really cool public range around Jboro? Is it that so many folks have access to private ranges that there isn't any demand for a public range? Or is it that there are so many Fudds up there that still have half a box of 30-06 ammo that they inherited from their Grandad?

I don't even know anyone who works there. Just saying that seems to be the general rule from McDonalds to the White House.

Yep, said husband and I are excited about this - we typically buy our reloading and such online, but local options are always nice!!
