Can anybody recommend a good taxidermist in or around Little Rock? I'm looking to have a Mallard drake mounted. I would especially like to hear from anybody with first hand experience. Price also needs to be reasonable. Thanks!

Darrell Rollans did a whitetail fawn for me (techincally it was for my employer at the time) after I hit it with my car. He was out on Ironton Cutoff in LR - not sure if he is still there or not as a web search shows conflicting results between there and Mountain View. He was very professional, and had a number of awards from various regional shows and such.

Wild Wings in Hot Springs does the best ducks but there is a guy with a shop out by the Little Rock Airport that does good work also, his name is Chipmunk and he owns Chipmunk's Taxidermy. About $200 or so.

Apparently he is out of business. Lives up in Mt. Home now and builds mandolins or something. No longer doing taxidermy.

On the other hand, I found a place in Conway called Best of Birds. They quoted me $185 and a 4-6 month turn around. Sounds pretty good to me.

take a look at ducks the taxidermist has done before you give him money, just because he can do deer doesn't mean he can do ducks!

Good point. I'm a taxidermy noob, so that's good advice.
