HHS likely would have to set up Kansas exchange

By Alina Selyukh

WASHINGTON, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Kansas became on Tuesday the second U.S. state to return a large federal grant meant to help it create a prototype health insurance exchange as part of the Obama administration's healthcare overhaul.

Republican Governor Sam Brownback said the state would give back the $31.5 million it received from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to become an early leader, along with six other states, in establishing health insurance exchanges that other local government could use as a model

The hilarious thing is HHS director Sebelius resigned as KS governor to take over HHS and her "successor" Brownback is reversing as much of what she did and does as possible.

Interesting fact - It seemed to me like she became more conservative as she became closer to the HHS job offer to (I guess) make it through senate confirmation. Politics at the time even forced her to sign into law our new MG/suppressor law. Nothing funnier than watching a liberal democrat try to explain why she thinks legalizing MG's and suppressors is a good idea.
