Do you have your own equipment yet? It's MUCH easier than you think, at least for turning out safe, basic ammo. Follow the load data in the book, and you'll be fine.
I'd offer, but all of my gear is still packed up from a recent move.
Of course, I'm always up for a beer or three at the Chicken Coop, and can answer questions. Send me an IM.
I talked to a guy down at Swedes that was pretty helpful in getting me started, I can't remember his name tho... Its not Darlo or his kid. I ended up never going any further than buying a reloading book... but still plan to sometime.
I'd be in to sit down some time if you guys get together.

Drink more coffee.

I just emailed the guy who posted up about the CCW classes if anyone in the area is interested. I'm not sure if it will happen or not, but a few in my family have been talking about getting their CCW for a while now and this would work out perfect.
Faon, what high school did you go to and what year did you graduate?

No harm in jumping right in. Read a good reloading manual and stick to published loads and you'll be fine.
Check out the matches at Heartland Public Shooting Park. There's always fun stuff going on there.
