Big thumbs down for The Bullet Hole (Omaha)

I now remember why I hate going to The Bullet Hole for anything. I ordered a G19 from them back in January, and was told at the time that it was about 3-6 weeks for delivery. I called today to check the status of my order. The guy on the other end told me that they have no way of tracking orders. At that time I informed him that I was told 3-6 weeks at the time of order and we were coming up on the 6 week mark. He then states "No one here told you that, because it's 6-8 weeks". I politely informed him that at the time of my order in JAN that's what I was told. He then stated "No you weren't". At that point I hung up. You don't treat customers like that and basically call them liars to their face. I'm officially done dealing with them.

Many have told stories of bad service with the employees there. Did you already give them your money?

If not, try Moeller Arms in LaVista, he will treat you right. He is a NFOA member(and on the Board of Directors now) and an all-around great guy.

I will probably be cheaper, too.

Back when I originally moved out here 3 years ago they were decent. They had a knowledgeable staff and were helpful. Now it seems the staff is different every time you go in there. I did pay for the gun already. It's also a LEO order so the price is about $100 less than I would pay anywhere else so they kind of hold the market in this area for that. Only other place is that does the LEO pricing is in South Sioux.

their service sucks period. i would purposely go somewhere else and spend the extra $100 towards a good store, unless your hands are tied.

A buddy wanted to shoot a new gun of his so we went there a couple weeks ago.
There was a guy looking at AR's. The guy helping him was talking about how to bump fire and actually condoning it (sorry, I think its a waste)
Im never really impressed with that place. They overcharge for shit it seems and the attitude is something else.
I think Ive bought one item there and it was a return spring for my 1911.

Agreed. I will never step foot in that place again. The extremely poor customer service and that attitude behind the counter is completely unacceptable. They seem to operate with the the mindset, we are the only indoor range in town and if you don't want to shoot here; go F yourself.

Well, Bullet Hole, you can go F yourself, I will continue to take my business elsewhere.

Big thumbs up for Rod, the owner of Moeller Arms. Really cool guy, willing to work with you on whatever you want and will give you a great price on items. The price he quoted for me for a S&W M&P 9mm was almost $100 lower than Bullet Hole!

He's a great guy and runs a good business. He still answers the phone when he isn't open.

As far as shooting... I go to ENGC (although you have to be a member to shoot there) every chance I get instead of BH. It's a lot further of a drive but the atmosphere (every member I've met so far has been very cool) is much better and it feels safer. I've seen people do some crazy stupid shit at BH and no one ever told them not to.

Like the guy running around with his UZI-lookalike and muzzle sweeping everyone in the shooting area. That's just completely unsafe and I was appalled that BH staff didn't kick him out. I'm convinced they don't watch those cameras at all. Shoot there at your own risk.

I did my Glock LEO order myself directly through Glock. You simply call Glock customer service and they will mail you out the order form. Send it back with your FFL and payment and your good to go.

I've had some goofy dealings with employees at the BH. I won't go there anymore.

I go through Rod at Moeller arms and shoot at ENGC as I'm a member as well.

It's the way to go.

Agree, the BH sucks! Several of the employees that work there have a condescending attitude towards customers, plus their prices are rediculous. I try to avoid that place like the plague.

I would take my chances firing some shots in the ditch in front of the BH before I would spend a dime there. Shit service and ballooned prices, last time I was there they wanted over $400 for 1k of the crap ass 5.56 reloads they sell! No way I am paying box prices when I am buying cases! Not to mention. most the time the customers/shooters look like they just got off the express ride from North O...

Moeller
+1 , he also does $25 transfers.
Most of his inventory is cheaper than I find online.
Which is incredible.

+1 about the prices at the Bullet Hole. They say they are a LEO Glock dealer but they jack up the prices way higher than the standard LEO list. Just order direcly from Glock. Vic Samuel (SSA Enterprises) in Papillion does $15 transfers for Mil /LEO. Super cool guy.

I also had my first (and last) order through the BH take weeks and weeks to arrive...I would periodically call to inquire about the status and they acted like it was a big hassle and would just basically say "just wait for it." Their customer service is horrible.

Moeller Arms is who I'll be doing my future orders through. Talked to him once in his store, very nice and welcoming individual.

The BH is a for profit business.... Somebody say something to Wes or Linda about all of this? They might not realize there is a problem. Make em aware and they fix it and you have a place to shoot that is friendly.

I vote for telling them they have a problem brewing. I would walk in an tell them myself as I have known them for quite a while, but I am 500 miles away.

I've pointed out the obvious to them. Nothing's changed. They want $40.00 for a transfer. Most charge $25.00. They claim they will match prices. They don't. I tried to get them to match a pistol price at another dealer. They said, and I quote....."no way". It was cheaper for me to buy the pistol at the other dealer and pay to have it shipped and pay my FFL fee. They had stripped DPMS lowers for $180.00............and this was after the Obama scare.
Burnsy87  [Team Member]

Yeah, I called a couple weeks ago about a stripped lower after seeing it on Palmetto for $75, and they told $180... I made him clarify it was stripped, I couldn't believe it.

Well, then fail for the Bullet Hole will ensue I suppose. Last time I was there was summer before last... SUPER hot inside the range and was looking kinda run down.
Rick_NE  [Member]

The bad thing is, the ignorant masses in Obamaha will pay the $180(plus tax, probably) for their $75-80 lowers and be completely happy with it.

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose...

Is there another in door range in Omaha or the surrounding area? I usually don't buy much there, but do shoot there. The crowd has been heavier than normal and I have walked back out to report an unsafe shooter which they took care of. I believe their range sees heavy use and that alone seems to be the money maker. I too vote to speak with the owners about issues. Of course if that doesn't satisfy you, go somewhere else. Sooner or later they will get the message when no one is there anymore.

Just my 2 cents.

edit to say I am amazed at the number of bullet holes in the ceiling.

I thought OMB was the only LEO dealer in the KC/Olathe area? Though last I heard, OMB lost their glock partnership so they could no longer deal glocks.

Does TBH still sale the spent brass left by shooters?

We're talking about the BH in Omaha. Sounds like the one in KS isn't any better................

This is hillarious. I was reading through everything being said and I was totally on board until someone said that the guys are always different. Then I started looking at where everyone was from. The bullet hole in ks is full of the same old A-holes that have been there for forever. Otherwise I wouldn't have know the difference!

I will never step foot in TBH. The people who work at that place are not polite and treat everyone like they are better than them. I would like to see that place go under. I tell eveyone that I no not to shoot at that place. I have only live in Omaha for 3 years and I have felt that way from day one. I would like to support them but no way. It is also the most un-safe place I have ever shot at on top of every thing.

I was going to defend them as I have always had good service in there. The guys were always polite friendly with me. Guess its been a while since I was in last time. Got there at opening yesterday and there were about 25 people standing outside. Everybody but me were there to shoot.I was looking for a new AR and thought I would give them another shot as I bought my first from them and feel I got a good price(under recomended retail and cheaper than Sols). One of the guys handed me one then walked away never to return. I looked at it didnt want to pay the price set it down and waited 10 mins till another guy came by and asked if I was done with it and put it back. He never asked If I wanted to see another one or what I thought of the one I was looking at.I was in the store about 15 mins total and wont go back till I have my new AR and can go back and rub in the fact they lost the sale.

I think that the biggest problem with opening a range in the Omaha area, is the red tape. From what I understand, it is a pain in the ass to get the permits, and the EPA gets involved as well.

Not impressed with The Bullet Hole, everything over priced and staff condescending, just my take on the place from a couple visits, I lived in JOCO for lots of years. A really nice place to buy your handguns is Pawn Market on Hwy 24 in Topeka, nice selection of new hand and long guns, nice prices, and nice people! Place is also great for no hassle transfers.

You may want to edit the thread title. That said, RIF.
