I know its a no-no for UPS/FEDX/USPS to ship loaded ammo up here and it has to come up via barge (unless your outside and fly it up in your luggage) but what about primed brass? Can it be sent via USPS/UPS/FEDX?

You can ship loaded ammo up via ups/FedEx air
It's just expensive

Primed brass has to follow the same ORM-D as loaded ammunition as the primer components are technically an explosive. So, like UAF said, it is possible, just expect to pay out the freaking nose on it. (somewhere around $100+)

I'd honestly just buy the brass unprimed and then prime it up here. Heck, you can get 2-3 bricks of primers for the cost of hazmat alone.

The actual hazmat charges aren't that outrageous
It's just paying air charges on something that weighs a lot

Thanks! I've been looking at getting into the 300 BLK and the only factory brass I've found is Rem. primed. I know I can get reman. brass or make it myself, but would have rather had factory. Any one here in the state jumped onto the 300 BLK bandwagon yet? Any loaded ammo anywhere instate? All my searching has turned up nada. That is the biggest thing keeping me from playing with this round. Thanks for the info on the shipping. Back to the drawing board......

Have been hearing of some guys shooting it but don't know if they are loading their own or shooting factory. I think BDF is kenai had some Hornady 300 whisper before christmas. Not sure if they still do.

I picked up 1000 count brass from Brad's Warehouse (lake city) and roll my own. If you are near Anchorage and want to try it out (after it warms up a little) - let me know. If Farris ever approves my damn stamp, you can try it out suppressed.

Erik got it all. Sold all his 9mm carbine stuff for a song and went all out on a Noveske barrel and all the ammo. Looks like a fun setup.

I know your frustration! I've got one waiting on her as well. Just over 4 months since pending on a Kodiak TL. I was really hoping for a nice Christmas present. Maybe I'll get it for valentines day.

Thanks for the offer. I may very well take you up on it (when it warms up some). I've wanted one of the 300 flavor of the day ever since the first time I read about JD Jones and the 300 Whisper. I never made the jump because of the wildcat nature of the thing. Now that its standardized I really want one. I wish that someone would start carrying ammo up here for it instead of it being a roll your own proposition. I'd just rather spend my time shooting instead of reloading.

I have yet to receive any stamps for forms that were submitted after 7/1/11.

I called last week to check on mine as it was about two weeks past the four month mark (which they told me when I called to find out if it was pending in Aug was the time frame...). The lady, really nice BTW, told me they were still working on July forms. Mine went pending Aug 22. I'm really itching now, but will just have to wait longer. I wish there was something that could be done to speed the process up. I was fine, had actually "forgotten" about it, till December. Now I'm ready to get my can. Just my humble opinion, but 60 days should be plenty of time to complete their end of things.

I do know that the lady I talked to said they only had 10 examiners for the whole country and they did all the transfers including dealer xfers and if I remember correctly the Mfg to dealer ones as well.
