I was amazed on how it happened. Everyone was driving straight and this person just turned the wheel all the way to the right and in they went. They weren't slipping or sliding they just turned into the ditch. Nothing caused it but their crappy driving.

I seriously don't know how people end up in the ditch, other than being stupid. I've commuted from ER to Anchorage for 8 years now and never have I come close to losing control on the highway. I've seen a couple lose it and go ditch diving, but mostly I just see the aftermath.

I have drivin in the ditch to keep from hitting stupid people, but my f350 has no issues in the poor excuse for snow accumulation we have thus far.

Other than wearing out my Tacoma on a clear sunny day on dry pavement going around the corner and hitting black ice, it was always due to stupid people doing stupid things.

I can see someone fearful with the ice trying to guide the vehicle where it wants to go.

That does not explain STUPIDITY.

1) Someone pulling into the MIDDLE LANE on the Glenn by Ft Rich about 35 miles an hour right in front of a tight knot of traffic going 70. She had the guts to ask if she could leave the scene after making sure we were all still alive. No, you better wait for the cops.

2) South of Eagle River on dangerous ice, someone stopped in the 'fast' lane while I was about 500 yards behind. I let off the gas, then slowly tried braking until I spun a 180. I had to wait for a spot to open up in the traffic to turn around, and the IDIOT said he stopped to wait for his wife to catch up WHILE WAITING IN THE FAST LANE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH DANGEROUS ICE ON THE ROAD. F'in idiot. I wonder what state he was from. Not even Canadians drive like that.

3) Watching military wives in Eagle River drive 40 mph in an SUV where a safe speed is 'park.' Road conditions that day were so bad, I saw someone spin in circles in a tight knot of traffic and noone slowed or changed lanes. The roads were bad that day.

Could have been. I wanted to stop so me and my son can point an laugh.

Last Friday I was driving down tudor and the right lane was completely empty, the left lane looked like a parade. I was going 40mph and this car just decides to jump out of convoy right in front of me. She was to close and I couldn't stop in time and I ended up on the sidewalk right next to her. She just kept driving, I had to bitch her out at the stop light though.

The stupid is strong these days in Anchorage drivers. I can't go to the store without getting pissed at someone doing one or more of the following:

1. Trying to merge onto the Seward Hwy while going 25mph and when they can't find a hole cause traffic is moving 50+, coming to a complete stop .
2. Reducing the number of lanes in a road by 1 because the snow covers the lines and people are too stupid stay in their lane.
3. The signs says yield, not roll through intersection without looking at all, even though it's dark and you can obviously see my headlights coming cause I saw yours and slowed down cause I had a feeling you were going to do something stupid.
4. A long list of other shit stupid drivers have done near me this winter.

We should have a Summer and Winter drivers license...

I would like to add:

As I am approaching the stop light they pull to the light and stop, pull forward a little more and stop, do it one more time then completely pull out in front of me as I'm I'm the intersection.

I'll add this one: Don't be polite and let someone pull out in front of you. Because they will inevitably pull out across your lane right in front of me while I'm doing 40mph. Luckily, last night I was able to avoid them as they continued to cross all 4 lanes of Northern Lights Blvd, all the while a wall of traffic comes sliding down the road trying not to run their ass over.

I seen that ass hole before. The guy who stops in the middle of the street to let someone pull out of a side street even when their is no damn stop sign.

Cabbies have a very bad habit of that out here.
They do it to let other cabs on the road.
