Decent brass catcher for the AR

I'm getting tired of batting off these old guys with buckets at the range for my brass. Has anyone had good success with a brass catcher that still lets you run the gun for drills?

Septic turned me on to this one. A bit pricy, but it has worked flawlessly for me. YMMV

i've used the 3bucc units A LOT. i've run them after testing many over the course of many pdog trips. highly recommend.

also, i was thinking rick ran across one he liked not long ago. i can't remember what product it was though... maybe he'll chime in.

That looks nice and from what i read works well but the mounting with optics seems to be the common theme. I'm curious to see what Rick was using.

I just ordered the one from Caldwell that has a strap that attaches to the forearm in front of the reciever. Natchezz has them for eight something. I'll let you know what I think when I test it out.

I have one like the Caldwell and it works pretty good. I'll have brass or two fall between the receiver and the bag. I've heard good things about the 3bucc, will have to try it sometime.

here is all you really need to know. any catcher that isn't supported directly above the bag will close shut with the weight of the empties... so the 3bucc stays open no matter what. the others will close shut and won't work.

I saw these at KC gunshow a couple of years ago. IIRC, they are more than the 3Bucc

.

I also used the 3bucc unit. It works really well, but the attachment method might be problematic for some. It uses the rail on top of the upper receiver which might not be available depending on your optic set up.

I bought my 3bucc brass catcher at BRC 1 over 10 years ago and have never had a problem with it. If I shot my AR's more often I'd get another one but for now I just transfer it back and forth between them if I need to control my brass.
