I had taken some photos with my cell phone earlier today but they looked like crap so I took a dinner pic with the new rifle with my dslr.

And here is what I cook my steaks to.

As a note, food looks different under 'flash' light. Here is what the steak would look like under 'natural' lighting conditions (which is also why it is blurry, as it was dark).

should have grabbed a BCG while you were at.

Also the Magpul VFG are not as cool retro Knights VFG and black is so 1967.
You can't go wrong with BCM & magpul. I have 4 BCM uppers and will cry every time I buy one. Worth the money.

Yeah the BCM BCG will be coming later. I will pick it up on the 15th when I get paid, as I am only willing to put so much on my credit card.
I was going to do OD Green, but, the eagle PC that Romp sold me is also black. Talking to Romp costs me money

.
Man a black plate carrier, thats never been cool. Only cops ever wore that stuff.
Ah you are making me proud there young man. And remember that pain (or being broke) is only temporary and pride is forever! Seriously though, you will like that setup.
R
Edited to add, when you order the bolt carrier group get the full auto carrier. It is legal, and the extra weight ensures good lock time.

Bite your tongue there shove boy

Haven't you ever heard that good guys wear black?
R
Mall Ninjas wear black
Does BCM even offer a non-full auto carrier?

Yes they have CMT & LMT Semi bolt carrier but nothing under the BCM name in semi is offered.

WRONG! OD green, more precisely OG107, is 1967! Get it right NUMB NUTS!

Sorry, I meant the 1970s classic SWAT
I can see little Rick with this circled in the Sears catalog
Meanwhile, little bob was busy circling shovels in the home depot flyer....
BRD is a bitch

BCM BCG are in stock again as of this morning- they sometimes sell out in a few hours to days depending on demand.
So far sounds like you off to a very nice rifle......which leads me into the February topic of discussion......
R
Sounds just about exactly like one of my favorite rifles. THIS is what I am talking about......this guy has been doing some training, took his time, thought about it and put together a rifle that makes sence for what he wants to do with it.
Pretty much everything one needs in a basic defensive carbine and nothing he doesn't.
R
I have been eyeing a SCAR, Larue PredatorAR, Knights SR15, or DD rifle

Once I get a job, I'm going to be broke.

Nice Thomas, never really cared for the SCAR myself, different strokes for different folks though. Knights.....VERY nice but a bit out of my price range. DD makes some excellent stuff as well and you know a DD dealer who will treat you right
R
BionicSniper, good choices on what you've ordered so far. I've got an almost identical setup on a 14.5" LW BCM upper. IWC makes some nice stuff for the MOE handguards for qd slings and such.

Speaking of IWC, that has been taken care of by someone. Details will follow in a few days.
Also if people can not tell, I've modeled this rifle after Romp's. It has all of the attributes that I believe will help the user rather than hinder the user. By that I mean that it is lightweight, extremely durable, perfectly accurate for what it is, and agile.
IWC does make a decent light mount or you can use the one Haley Strategic is putting out or....for the best bang for the buck, a Magpul rail attachment, I think the 2" one goes for 8-10 bucks and attach a TLR1 or other light.
Any of them would add to your build and stay within the confines of light, agile, and no added crap. You did good brother, looking forward to seeing it.

The SCAR with its reciprocating charging handle when on the left was a deal breaker for me. With a high grip if put my hand in the wrong place I'm gonna get a nice charging handle slap.
I have long arms and it has not been close to an issue for me test firing guns.

Personally I'd get the DD from that list. Not a fan of the SCAR. The knights uses alot of proprietary parts, which could be an expensive hassle. I like Larue alot, but for the money it would be hard to beat a DD.
Photos inbound tomorrow (later today...).
Hey brother if you need any help putting anything together give me a shout.
