[Edit]Raffle being moved to 12:00PM
It's been a while since we had an organized shoot around these parts, so let's make one happen!
Date: October 22nd, 2011, 10:00AM-Dusk
Location: Valley Sportsman's Club, just west of Buxton, ND (Lat/Long: 47.587706805071015, -97.17702269554138; Directions: From I-29, exit on the Buxton offramp around 20 miles south of Grand Forks. Travel west on the road you exited on (County Highway 21) through the town of Buxton. You will see two radio towers in the distance on the left side of the road, one looking like a large pole with microwave dishes on it, and one looking like a spire with a beacon at the top ("Eiffel Tower" style). The one with the microwave dishes will be closer, and upon passing it, the first left turn opportunity you will have will be a gravel road with no markings on it, except for a utility pole on the NW corner of the intersection that features an arrowed-sign with a letter K on it, pointing north. This gravel road is approximately 4.4 miles west of the I-29 offramp into Buxton. Turn left (South) on the road, and head down it approximately two miles. You will soon crest a hill, the range will then be on your immediate left.
What to bring: Firearms/Ammo, Folding Tables and chairs (Bench space at the range is limited!), Ear/Eye Protection, Interesting Targets (Please pick up your trash when shooting has concluded!)
Target placement available at the range is at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. A trap area separate from the main firing line is available, however please bring your own thrower. As it's October, count on a battalion of enemy pumpkins advancing on the firing line that will have to be dealt with.
We'll also have a door prize raffle that will take place at 12:00PM, with a few interesting goodies up for grabs.
Safety will be a priority, please observe all gun safety rules or you will be asked to leave. We'll have a brief safety meeting before shooting begins to lay down the ground rules.
Post any questions here if you have them!
