Where to buy shooting gear near Bismarck?
I know this might be covered else where here but I know nothing of the area or the towns that are near me all I know is the Res I'll be working at and the closest big city that is near me really! That being Bismarck and the res Standing rock.
I'm guessing there is a range there for the LEO (Might be wrong) So what I'm looking for is a place to buy my reloading gear at primes and powder and if they have a good selection of bullets that would be great also but not needed as much as the primers and powder. Just to add where is the place to shoot around this area also? Would not mind meeting some of the members here or have a place to go and shoot if I can't find one on the Res! Thanks!
Not many choices.
Scheels has a decent selection for reloading components. Mandan Sporting goods has some as well.
Don't expect any earth shattering good deals though.
Gun City on main in Bismarck is another option but I rarely go in there, as I am not a fan.

Scheels is about the only place I go anymore. Got sick of the attitude at Gun City. Nothing earth shattering but I'm treated quite poorly every time I've gone in. Anything they have you can find online for less.

Bingo
That sucks I'm just looking for a place I can buy my Ramshot Tac without having to pay the extra $30 haz fee.
Mandan Sporting Goods is ok.

IIRC Scheels doesn't handle TAC. Maybe Mandan Sporting Goods.
There is a couple of places in Mobridge that have some supplies. Gene's Guns has some gun powder and primers unsure about Tac. Gene's is run out of his house. Jerry's Pawn has some ammo and a nice collection of firearms. Also there is Dean's Shooter Supplies, I haven't been there in awhile can be difficult as not always open or there.
Newbie from Bismarck.
Looks like GunHutt (CycleHutt, KTM dealer) on the Strip in Mandan seems to be a new place. Haven't stopped in to get the scoop yet, will stop tomorrow maybe.
I agree there's an attitude at Gun City, though I only really get it from the tall guy. Scheel's doesn't sell 5.7x28mm, nor does Wal-Mart, so really the only options are Gun City or Mandan... :\
Mandan Sporting Goods has TAC. Last time I got some TAC was in Miles City, MT. $134 for a 8 pounder.

My dad did a NFA transfer for a can through them (Mandan Sporting Goods). It went pretty smooth. Some of you guys might have seen it. A rem 700 with a YHM phantom on display there. When I lived in Bis, I went to gun city for ammo but thats when you could get Blackhills seconds for a $11.00 a box. Are you guys talking about the guy with the white or grey beard? He's a douche. I like the store though.
I also went to Marv's Hardware, before it was Mandan Sporting Goods.
I love the atmosphere at Gun City; a true gun shop.... But the markup is ridiculous, and the tall guy who forever wears shooting glasses/sunglasses is a dick every time I'm in there, like he's better than everyone in every single way because he works at Gun City.
Anyways, last I heard GC and MSG are pissed at GunHutt because GH offers transfers for 25 dollars... But, GH doesn't actually have much inventory; an SKS accompanied by a handful of hunting weapons, and a Five-seveN in the case with like three other handguns. Their big thing is transfers and ordering you the weapon you saw on the internets.
Cool shop, but they could probably use a bit more tac gear and shooting supplies.
Thats what MSG charges, $25 for a transfer.
So it sounds like just ordering from the net might be my best bet then! Hate to pay the $30 hazmat fee on primers and powder.
