I just moved to Soiux falls area, my fiend is a member of the dell rapids range but i am kinda dissapointed with that one. I am looking for a 200-300 yrd range that doesn't require a RO there to shoot.

Garretson Range. Indoor Handgun, Outdoor Handgun, trap, and rifle lanes.

Sioux Falls Benchrest Club is decent for 100 and 200 (they have a 300, but just one lane). They also have a huge waiting list and a hefty annual fee.

$60.oo a year after the first year is not a HEFTY fee. We do have a waiting list and you must be a NRA member.

You are with SFB?

How do we get on the waiting list?

I was given a number for Marc and left a message but no call back.

Was shooting at Garretson, switched to Big Sioux as I'm shooting USPSA out there. Benchresters is closer to my house and has a 300 yard range.

My experience with DBRS has been nothing but positive, and definitely worth the wait

To be clear I'm talking about Dakota Benchresters. I think thats what its called.

I've got no problem waiting, just want to get on the list.

Does membership allow both my wife and I to shoot?

We've started big game hunting this year and need the practice.

I'm a member of the Dakota Benchrest Shooters and the Big Sioux Rifle and Pistol Club.
If it were me wanting to get on the waiting list, I'd call Marc back every week or so until he acknowledged you were on the list.
I think he's a supervisor with the SFPD and pretty busy so I wouldn't give up after leaving just one message.
Yes, it's a family membership whcih includes your wife and children.
I have heard that the wait is quite long because there is very little turnover in the membership.
For example, I personally have probably only only shot there a dozen times in the past couple years but I am sure as hell not going to let my membership lapse.
Dakota Benchrest is a great range, it's just that the Big Sioux Range is a lot closer for me and I haven't been shooting as much due to ammo costs and family schedule.

I think what brass was refering to as "hefty" above was the first year fee which is significantly more than the annual $60 renewal.

I gave up on the Dakota Benchrest Club. I called and called and called. No return calls, no acknowledgment, no response. I called about a dozen times. I was told to only call after 8PM. Every few days for a month I tried to call after 8 PM. No luck. If they are that unresponsive then I will just deal with the drive to Garretson or Big Sioux.
