 They're Here!

Well, as I said, this last Friday (29 Oct) was the big day. Had to be at RCRH at 0600 to get all the intake forms done, which took about 10 minutes.

After that, we went down to the Labor Rooms and got all situated, IVs plugged in, blood pressure taken, baby heartbeats established and all the other mundane tasks associated with getting ready for surgery.

At about 0810, the anestheiologist came in and explained what was going to happen, then the wife was whisked away for the surgery.

10 minutes later, they came and got me, by now changed into scrubs and mask with nifty little booties to go into the OR.

Talk about fast. No sooner than I sat down next to my wife's head, I hear the first cry and an invitation to look over the curtain to see the first of my twins, my son. Talk about an experience! This was followed closely by the arrival of the second twin, my daughter. I had just enough time to see her, when they drug me over to the incubator table to take the first pics of my new chirrens. From there, it was a whirlwind. Out the door so the Grandparents could see them and get pictures, then it was off to the nursery for all the measurements; length, weight, depth, girth (or so it seemed).

Wife was released from the hospital Monday afternoon and was VERY happy to get home. The cat wasn't so enthusiasctic. Her nose is a little out of joint about the arrival of the chirrens, but she'll get over it.

So, without further ado, here are the newest members of the gun community (though they don't quite know it yet):

Son, Montez Alexander weighed 5 lbs 15 oz and was 18.5". (Left)

Daughter, Ariana Michelle, weighed 5 lbs 7 oz and was 17.75". (Right)

There it is...we're AK guys through and through...even got Straatconst convinced on a '74.

Congrats on the pair of conservative heirs to a fine AK upbringing, dude!

You know you're going to have to rat hole some more kits and receivers so they can learn to build them in a few years.

You're probably right on the rat hole thing. Wishful thinking would say that such a thing wouldn't be needed as we'd have reclaimed our freedom by then. But realistically, I'm more worried now than ever. Though its not like I couldn't outfit a small army...
