WI guy coming for a hunting visit
Two friends and I are starting to make plans to come over to South Dakota and do some pheasant hunting. We want to rent a small cabin and go the public land route. Do any of you fine people know which part or area of the state is better for that? We are trying to keep it cheap and any input would be helpful and appreciated. Im not sure on dates yet it will depend on when my friends can get off work.
I think over by Redfield you'll have good luck. My freinds dad lives over there. Lots of birds.
I have family in Nodak that have acre upon acre of CRP, lots of birds in the Mott area. The good thing about hunting ND is that if it isn't posted its fair game to hunt there. Here in SD you have to get permission no matter what.
Hope this helps.

Yes there are a lot of birds this year. Public lands have a lot of cover, dogs are a must.
I will have to look into ND as well.
I have a dog and so does one of my friends it might be his last year though.
Thanks for the info. I will start looking into it all.

Check out Nebraska. No birds in ND.
I went to the SD website for regulations, maps and such. I must say your state is very squared away and I look forward to spending some money there to give back what I will be taking away.
