I've gotten into buying rusty antiques and cleaning them up. So far all I've done is clean up a replica .50 caliber muzzle loader and order replacement parts, and polished the rust off a 1901 Essex shotgun and covert it to muzzle loader.
I'm waiting to hear back from the BATF to see if it would be legal to build a pistol on an antique long gun receiver. I want to make a short barred shotgun that shoots .38 blanks via non removable chamber inserts.
So far the only places Ive found that sell them are the Dixieland flea market on telegraph and Dixie, and the antique store in down town Berkley.
Been in IRISH HILL'S ANTIQUES on hwy 12 in brooklyn MI that had a few from time to time.If you do drive down 12 there you will find like 8 to ten antique shop's within about ten to 15 mile's apart.And i know i have seen antique gun's for sale in alot of there shop's, just can't remember the name's of all the shop's i seen them in.
i cast rubber and resin 12 gauge rifled slugs. a 209 primer is enough to launch a resin slug about 30 yards or so, then they veer off in weird angles.
