The bitch is that the couple weeks before opening day I got 2700 pics of deer off one of my cameras, first 4 days of hunting saw nothing.

I have a nocturnal buck hitting my camera from 8 PM to 2 AM.
Never seen him before. Almost fell over, I didn't know deer got that old around me.
Now I gotta figure out how to make him come to papa!

I have the same problem hunting by my place and my dad's place, there was a 10 point there but only about 2am.

I hunt near state game area in Hillsdale Co., and it's been crazy quiet this season. Opening day I probably only heard a half-dozen shots. It usually sounds like Falluja out there. Lots of corn still up though.

Got bored watching does, took this with my phone through the scope.
42 yard shot, but no doe tag. Got a daylight four point on camera here too, oh well. Just meat hunting this year. Pouring rain right now.

I'm hunting Gladwin. I didn't go up this weekend but those guys said they aren't seeing much. My nephew shot a spike, his first deer

Gladwin is bone dry. Been up there for about 4 days. Trail cam spotted 3 Does but no Bucks. We didn't go out for Sunday night because it was raining out... guess who decided to nibble on my bait pile

There were plenty before gun season, at least in my part of Gladwin county. A couple times I'd seen 15 in an afternoon, and up to 7 at a time.
Since gun season started, I've seen a grand total of 8.

The weird thing is I didn't hear very much shooting, and only 2 or 3 that were within a mile.

Yup. Im at the cabin in Alpena. ALL the deer my cam gets is from 630ish to 3 AM.
Only seen three doe's before dusk so far.

First good snow down here revealed why I haven't seen any deer. Tracks of two huge dogs hitting every deer trail in the woods/swamp. Talking to the neighbors, it sounds like these same two dogs have been running the woods for over a month.
