Thats why its a good idea to always have a weapon within reach even when "inside" your house. Most times a front door is only a minor nuisance to brazen criminals. (be prepared) Show her your article.

I'm at work in the office above my garage right now and I have my Beretta in my Crossbreed right now. It will stay with me until I drop my shorts beside my bed. It's like my wallet, it stays with me 99% of the time.

I don't wear it while on the treadmill but those shorts don't have belt loops.

The wife's uber-liberal aunt & uncle live about five blocks from there.

Not a bad idea. I'll add that to my ever growing list of projects.

My wife did too until I took the time to point out every suspicious person to her during a weekend outing. Part of that was Oak Court Mall so that was easy. But even at the Target in Olive Branch, there are shady characters hanging out in the parking lot. Now she stays on my left to leave my strong hand free.

Remind her that when the SHTF you can protect her with your gun or trade her for food and ammo.

The other night I was going to take out the trash but had already taken my gun off for the day. I stood there debating with myself whether or not to get a gun to take the trash out. I felt kind of paranoid but just as a matter of policy I got a 38. Memphis. You're not paranoid.

I'll one up you. Run/walk with a carbine and incorporate it into your work out. I've got a NordicTrac C-series and it's large enough that I can do some drills. Turn on your least favorite TV program for constantly-changing targets. Oh, and be sure to leave your window blinds closed (or open) depending on neighbors.

Nice! I could think of a lot of tv shows for that workout
