Nashville Chapter Meeting - March 20 - Lt. Col. Courtney Rogers
The Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Firearms Associaiton is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Golden Corral restaurant in Hermitage.
Meeting time is 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm
Our guest will be
Lt. Col. Courtney Rogers who retired in 2008 after 28 years of active Air Force and Air National Guard duty. She has announced that she is going to run against Rep. Debra Maggart who serves the 45 District but who has become an adversary of 2nd Amendment issues.
Rep. Maggart is part of the House Republican leadership and thus at her feet lies part of the leadership's agenda to shut out 2nd Amendment issues from consideration by the House of Representatives.
Part of the objective of the TFA has always been to determine and report as much as possible on the true alliance of legislators and candidates on 2nd Amendment and other constitutional issues. That mission means that TFA is willing to identify those who hold or seek power and who use that power to suppress and infringe our rights, and, once identified, to work to either change their priorities and, if that proves inadequate, then to change their authority which usually means removing them from office. Such is the case with Debra Young Maggart and, sadly, too many others who think and act as she does. We have done that in the past and we will continue to do that in the present and in the future.

Arrive early - 5:00 to 5:30 would be good. Eat in the meeting room if possible and if not, get as close as you can. We will try finishing eating by 7:00 in the meeting room to clear out everything but drinks for the meeting if we have a large turnout.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PAY AT GOLDEN CORRAL AS YOU COME IN FOR THE MEETING IF YOU ARE EATING. TELL THEM THAT AT THE CASH REGISTER THAT YOU ARE THERE FOR THE MEETING AND TO APPLY THE "GROUP RATE" WHICH INCLUDES YOUR DRINK.
You do not have to be a TFA member to attend nor do you have to be a resident of Nashville. Everyone is welcome and encourage to bring guests - even spouses.
I want to encourage each of you to bring someone with you to the meeting who has not been to one or been to one recently. There's no cost to come (unless you eat because the meal is on you).

Wow, this should be an interesting race! The last several elections in & around Nashville with female vs female candidates have almost all descended into catfighting & namecalling. It'll be interesting to see what ways Col. Rogers will go after Maggart. Voting not conservative enough, perhaps?
