Have a quarry microbrew for me

I was in Butte at 7 a.m. today. Left at noon. It was already starting to heat up. Should be a good year.

I'm going to try and make it on Sunday. I just found out tonight that I have to work tomorrow.

Yup, it sucked.

I figure that all the good ones went to Billings. I took a peek in the door, and that was not the show I was expecting in Great Falls. Never even bought a ticket as the vendors I wanted were not there. Too bad, I need some stuff too.

The show in Great Falls this weekend was not the big spring show, that will be at the end of April. I went there and spent about an hour walking around. Most of the gun stuff was geared towards the antique, collectible market, wheel guns, 1894's, blackpowder/muskets ect. There were a couple AR's all overpriced IMO along with a couple m1 carbines also overpriced. The most ridiculous thing I saw was one guy had a Garand .308 "tanker" that he wanted $800.00 for along with a Winchester marked preban M1A/M14 that he said he had built with all Winchester parts that he wanted $3,500.00 for
I have been checking, and I am not seeing any shows in Great Falls at that time. If you know the dates, let me know. Otherwise I may try and hit the Missoula show in mid-April.

Historically the big spring show is held the last weekend of April same time/week as the Charlie R auction. I will keep my ears open and post it up here when I hear something.
The big show in Great Falls is April 27-29. Add this to your favorites-

I was going to go to the Great Falls show this weekend untill I talked to Jim Mitchell and found out he was going to travel to the Billings show rather than staying in Great Falls for that show.

Kinda wet and cold wasn't it? (wife said it was raining during the parade then it snowed 6" by Sunday). Sat and Sun it was t-shirt weather here in Sidney.
How was the ice on Georgetown?

Glad your still alive!

I think everyone who enjoys a alcohol fueled city wide Party should try it once
ice right out from the pump house looked to be about 30" thick
but we didnt venture too far out, maybe about 50 yards at most
recycled some holes that others had made
when we fished georgetown a few weeks ago we were about another 150 yards south past the pump house, the ice seemed to be maybe a foot thick.
but you had to get through 2 feet of slushy snow and water to get to the solid ice part.
we left georgetown about 1pm right as the weather got nasty
it was raining on us in butte as we ate some pork chop sandwiches about 2:30pm and the sheer number of drunkards doing stupid shit already convinced us we should just fill up the growlers, say Hi to some friends, and bail. the weather wasn't too horrible though. off and on rain, some snow, but nothing drastic. after hanging out with some people i took a walk to find some caffeine and returned around 5pm thinking "we should leave before it gets dark..." alas, my friends had found a case of beer, forgot how loud and obnoxious everyone on the street already was, and suddenly had a desire to go to some bars. needless to say, we didn't leave butte that night. maybe an inch of snow on the ground sunday morning as we stumbled into reality.
it was an adventure. if you're into public intoxication and the stupidity that goes along with it it's definitely the place to go. otherwise...just watch the live feed online and drink at home, it'd be safer and less expensive ha.
