Plan on relocating soon to Western MT, when i find a job..... Aside from that I have the pick of areas surrounding Great Falls and West Glacier....... What area would you focus your efforts?

Thank you, we already did

Those are two vastly different places. So, it would depend on what YOU want to do, and what you like around you. Great Falls is out on the plains, can be quite windy, doesn't gets less snow than Glacier would. Glacier would be in the mountains, a lot more snow, less wind, and in the middle of a forest :)

I don't know a ton about West Glacier, as I have lived closer to Great Falls most of my life here.

The only jobs you'll find between W. Glacier and G. Falls are seasonal with the National Park Service (Fucking Anti-American Nazis).

The truth is, if you don't already have lots of money, don't bother moving to Montana, we don't need any more unemployed! Almost half this state is unemployed already.

As already mentioned If you want to move to Montana you better be bringing a marketable skill or your retirement account. Make sure you leave any big city thinking and ideals behind. Plan on becoming a Montanan and not just another displaced transplant that want's to make Montana more like where they came from. That being said I live and work in Great Falls about 75% of the jobs are lower paid, service/trade jobs unless you work for .gov average income in my neighborhood according to this website is around 30k. You can live on 30k here but it ain't the high life.

ETA if you don't want to be surrounded by the environazi's/hippies ect. Great Falls would be the better choice, one of the larger towns in Mt. with the convenience of shopping ect. In a community largely dependent on the ag industry and the Air Force base it better represents the Montana of old.

Not too keen on the windy side. My ex and kid live in Great Falls now, but have a home in West Glacier. Anywhere around the two is kinda what I'm looking at.

I suppose that the job will determine where I land ultimately.

Helena and the Flathead area are on the short list. Thanks for the advice.
