Hello again,

I currently have no cell phone and am soon purchasing one. Which service is going to be best overall for Wyoming?

Not 100% sure, but I'll probably be in Casper, if that helps.

Thanks folks,

Verizon has the best coverage in Wyoming and the area surrounding Casper.

Some places in Wyoming do not have cell coverage at all, or minimal craptastic cell coverage.

Verizon has the best service, but a large percentage of the state has no coverage at all... Thankfully.

Even with verizon you don't have to travel far from casper with out losing coverage.

I have Verizon and am posting this from the Hiawatha patch (oilfield). I'm about 55 miles south of Rock Springs.

But around Cheyenne where my house is, Verizon has very good service. But out here in the middle of nowhere it can be spotty to none. You may have to crest a hill to send a text or make a call.

I had a union company phone a couple years ago, if you wanted to have coverage out by Jeffery City, it was great, if you wanted to have coverage around the big horn basin IN TOWN, not so much.

It might be different now, I can't say.

I'm in Sublette County, and work in the Jonah, Mesa, and Anticline fields. Verizon BLOWS cheesy monkey nuts here! Even in town, service sucks. Union is not perfect by any stretch, but WAY better than Verizon over here.

There is no one service fits all for WYOMING. As you can see Verizon is the overall favorite. I have used Verizon in areas all over the state with success. The SW WY area is served well by Verizon. I have also had success with Sprint coverage thru roaming in many areas of the State.

I have a good friend who works for Union, from what he's told me Union owns/operates the majority of the tower sites in the state and leases bandwidth out to the big three. He lives in Cheyenne but does site service over pretty much the entire eastern half of the state. He uses T-mobile, something about their lease gets signal priority or something like that. I will ask for more details next time we talk.
