Shooter Service Center in St. John's. On Lombard near McMinamin's. Sometimes he has quite a backlog so it might take a while.

I recently picked up a 629 in 44mag. While I was cleaning it, I noticed it has a rattle from inside, like a loose or broken part. I have never owned a SW revolver before, so maybe this is normal. The rest of the gun seems like a tank, so it kinda surprised me. I got it FTF, and when I was checking it out I didnt notice it. The action works fine and the cylinder turns, just seems odd to have the rattle.

I would pull the grip off and take a peak. Might be something simple.

I have a pile of pre-82 S&W's and they all do it. It's normal.

It sounds like a broken whammer to me. It's basically ruined. The part costs more than the gun is worth. IM me and I'll come get it from you. Because it's the holidays I won't even charge you for pick up or disposal.

It's the hammer block, and normal.
