Any newburg residents?
What the heck is going on over there? Driving home along river road at 2:30 (8/26) this am and the sky light up like lighting or an explosion towards the newburg area (3 times in 20 minutes) but the sky is clear as can be. Nothing on the news that I can find......
Wa Co sherrif says a storm is headed north from that area, but Doppler Radar doesn't show anything. Weird. Oh well.
Lightning flashes got my attention, now thunder and lightning. It seems to be coming from the St Paul area.

I saw it when I was leaving Gorge Fox at 1am, Didn't get any back up here looks like it went East of us.
It was slow last night so I sat up at the towers on Bald Peak and watched for about an hour....pretty awesome lightning show! Looked to be south of Newberg. Pretty much looked like in War of the worlds how the aliens rode the lightning down!
It was a sight to see. I was driving to work at 3:15am at could see the strike all the way from the foster road exit. Looked really amazing by the time I made to to west linn.
We were camping at Timothy Lake (Mount Hood) and Thursday night / Friday morning was a big thunderstorm. Lots of lightning, lots of thunder and lots of rain. It was pretty impressive.
