Word on Beavercreek Armory?
How's the indoor range and instruction at Beaverccreek Armory? Do you recommend (or not)?
Personally I had a bad experience with BCA and cannot recommend them. Without going into any detail, they lied to me and a buddy after taking money/payment of over $1000. If they've changed their ways then hats off to them, but I won't be goin' back...
As for instruction; if you're talking about getting your Oregon and Utah concealed licenses, I would 100% recommend Michael at MK Tactical on the very west end of Hillsboro off TV Hwy a block north. He's a really nice guy and teaches a great class. His store has lots of cool stuff too. There's a guy called Dehnke selling custom holsters and pouches out of there for great deals too.
200 percent recommend Michaels at MK tactical.
FUCK beavercreek.....souless liers..
I am beginning to think I am the only person that BCA has treated well.
But if you are on the West side, MK tactical is great! Fair prices knowledgeable staff, Michale is a great guy

I've had nothing but outstanding experiences as well with BCA. Couldn't tell you much about the progress of their indoor range though, I moved from Portland a couple months ago and last time I was there the range was still under construction. Plus, just like every other "shooting range" in the Portland area you have to pay to use, their prices were a bit high for membership.
The fat lady at Beavercreek is why I'm never going back.
Everything she said made me want to leave that much more. Of course, this was right in the 2008 Obama scare, and she was really trying to instill the fear to make people purchase more (and at grossly inflated prices too).
Screw em'. Answer my questions with a legitimate answer, and you'll get return business. Hell, even with Keith's quick customer push off, I can at least get what I need and not hear some long winded speech.
Individual experiences with BCA aside...
I stopped in to check out the range the other day.
They have 8 - 10 bays (I didn't count) and a 15 yard range.
They don't have the target system installed yet.
They do have some steel set up down range.
Prices varry based on a couple different "packages" but they all consist of a an annual fee $125-150 and a per visit fee of $10 -$15 per person. No time limit on the visit.
pistol caliber only
You'll have to buy their ammo - the prices aren't great, but they aren't gouging either.
They plan on having full auto rentals and some other fun stuff like that.
So... that's what I know.
Prices aren't crazy, but aren't "super cheap so why not?" either.
I think once they get more rentals and get the target system installed it will be a little more attractive.
They're not sure how they're going to manage it, but they said they plan on allowing drawing from a holster with some sort of training requirement.
SO... I'm not sure. A little more than I'd like to spend, but what that hell isn't these days? On the other hand they're on the west side and they're at the exit I take to go home so it would be handy to be able to stop off once a week and do a quick skill builder drill with my carry gun.
I watched these guys from the start at the shows to where they are now.
My experiences with them has always been sub par.
Always rude.
Always acted like they know more about guns then anyone.
Always acted like "they" know what I want or should get
etc....
That said they are still in business......though so is the Gun Room

I am not a fan. I too stopped in there the other day. Selection was meh, prices were the same. Range is open, but for what it costs to shoot there, you could spend less than $7 in gas and go out into the coast range with your own ammo and no annual fee and shoot as much as you want. I got their price sheet and for a single individual it was the $150 annual fee and $20 per range trip. There were slightly better deals for multiple people signing up and what not, but it was still $15 per trip and you have to use their ammo. No thanks. And cape is right about the attitude. The old guy has been OK, but there was a guy a bit younger than him in there that was all tatted up working in the back that seemed to get annoyed when I asked for a crush washer. The older guy had no clue what was going on and couldn't figure out that the crush washer they paid $0.50 for should be sold for $1.00. Then they quoted me $7 for a crush washer that looked used.

Never gonna get my money. That and I have heard very few positive things from people that have done business with them and quite a few negative things.
MK tactical is the exact opposite of this. Prices are great, CS is stellar, and his CHL classes are top notch.
I would rather be hit in the balls with a sledge hammer than go to BOY COCK ARMORY
Gee their range price sure make TCGC sound pretty good. MK tact would get my biz before BCA.
Not sure what that had to do with the topic - CH
I went in to BCA about three years ago. I did not like the service I got but signed up for their CHL class anyways. The class sucked. So I wrote them off. Then I needed sights installed on a glock. Beaver Creek quoted $75 for the sight install. I ended up going to Gunbroker in Tigard and getting the sights installed for free. Gunbroker gets my business now. There was an old thread here about Beaver Creek releasing customer info.

Yeah, that was great. Basically they sold off a bunch of email addresses to a cable company or something. But they managed to do a nice email blast to everyone that they were selling out the info on. Shady douche bags.

1. Get offer from cable company to buy customer's info/email addys
2. Think about it for a couple seconds and come to the conclusion that its the honest and right thing to do with your customer's private information
3. Gather up all your customer's info and compile it into one email to send/sell to mega cable corp
4. Even after you've spent the time getting all this together, still agree with your coworkers/husband/dad/wife/kid that this is a good idea
5. Send the email off to mega cable corp containing contact and email addys of all your previous customers who've somehow given it to you
6. Realize you made a big mistake and put all the email addys into the "to" line instead of the body of the email...
7. woops
8. when customers begin contacting you regarding the release of their private/personal information you decide its best to lie and deny that you've done what is obvious and plain for everyone else to see...
9. basically lose most of your customers (hopefully...)
FWIW, the only thing I've ever bought there and been satisfied with is tumbling media in the stolen/borrowed USPS flat rate shipping boxes... I have enough for awhile but somebody needs to help me find a better place to source that.
Also, why does the question of "Beavercreek Armory???" come up all the time, but nobody else's shop is ever "wondered" about? You guys need to contact Coctailer if you need gunz. He is da true pimp.

Nail, meet Head of hammer.
I’ve had poor business dealings with BCA. I had a firearms transfer sent to BCA that was missing a few items AND an invoice. The seller of my gun, a well-known and well-regarded company, swore that they packed both of those items in the box. The seller told me that their packing checklist process meant that it would have been “almost impossible” for those items to have not been included in my box; especially an invoice. And I believe them. So,
somehow those items disappeared between when they were shipped, and when I picked up the rifle. And yes, BCA had unnecessarily opened my box before I got there.

(I’ve found that many transfer dealers don’t open boxes anymore, for precisely this reason: they don’t want to be accused of taking items if something is missing.)
I have absolutely no proof that BCA took those items, but considering the circumstances and everything else I’ve heard about them…let’s just say, I have my suspicions.
Aside from this, I don’t want to hear a political lecture anytime I go to a retail establishment. (At BCA, the lady in particular loves to talk politics.) Don’t assume that just because you run a gun shop, everyone who walks through the door is going to share your extremist political views.

They are D-bags in there and frankly I wonder how the heck they have stayed in business for so long. Screw them, avoid like the plague, etc etc. Can we just sticky this thread? this topic seems to come up 2-3x a year. Its almost to the point of being funny how often everyone bitches about them and the gun room.
I have used Cut Above Pawn for a few transfers and they never open the packages; they always hand it over unopened. Being above reproach just seems like a good decision, both personally and from a business perspective.

+1 for A Cut Above Pawn. Good service and some of the cheapest transfers around. That's the only place I now use for transfers.
Hard to say....my experience has been rather subpar....
I know some people screwed by them and that was enough for me.
