Charleston is a great place if you like history. Wander around downtown (in the historic areas - like any city Chucktown has places to avoid).
Take a couple carriage tours. There are a couple of them. On different routes you'll get different bits of history. On one I learned that John C. Calhoun was buried three times.
There is a boat ride out to Fort Sumter.
This
http://www.thrillercharleston.com/ is a fun ride.
No experience with it but there is the ghost tours and the old jail.
I'll be here till tuesday,I appreciate the input so far.I will not be making any fun store trips because iI cannot afford anything else to follow me home at this point.
I was going to suggest a dress parade at The Citadel, but that's a Friday afternoon thing.
you need to go see the Isle of Palms if it's nice out before you leave

Have a meal at the Acme Cantina while you're there. Great, affordable seafood.
And don't worry about adhering to any of the local laws there, the cops give tourists a freebie

For the local, low country-style dishes, especially BBQ Shrimp and Grits and She Crab Soup, go to 82 Queen.
For a good general seafood menu, Hymans Seafood is a landmark.
The trip out to Fort Sumter is worth it if you have the time.
The carriage rides mentioned by other posters is a must-do. I have had the best luck with the ones that use mules.
If you have a little more time, Drayton Hall Plantation's elegant, untouched beauty is one of the most amazing historical homes I have ever seen.

Yes and where I work proves it. Isle of palms and folly you have to have a warrant or try real hard to get arrested.

I believe our copy of the "TOP SECRET, EYES ONLY" memo is sitting under the leaky oil pan of one of our cars.
I know you are lying because with all that tourist money all your equipment is in tip top shape. Not a leaky oil pan or cracked windshield in the whole fleet!
