you may want to cross post this in the SF also....may get better response.
I just discovered the location this week. I plan to go on friday morning to check it out. I can post my experience in this thread, unless you were planning to go prior to then.
I would be glad to hear what you think of it.

I was thinking of going sometime this spring. Would also like to hear how the visit went. Good luck.
I hope it went well. Looking forward to hearing.

Bad news...
The place doesnt even exist.
For those of you who live in columbia, the place's address says it is located on Mill Field rd, which almost intersects Sparkleberry and North Brickyard. If you make a left onto north brickyard from two notch, then make a right onto North Springs, Mill Field is about a block down north springs, bearing off to the right.
Well that whole road only has like two landscaping businesses and one self storage place. No LDS cannery or anything. In fact, the address for the Cannery is occupied by a place that sells gravel and mulch.
So i dont know what we can do now...
Something is up cause I have spoke to a few did people on dif boards that have been there.
Also southern prepper 1 has a YouTube vid of being in there and how it works
do you know which date southernprepper1's vid of him going there was on? if i can see the outside of the building he went to, it might help me figure out what i was doing wrong.
But i went up and down that street and around that area for almost an hour trying to find the place and couldnt. Google maps has the address listed where the gravel/mulch store is. My Garmin showed it as being further down the street, but the only thing down there was a storage place (which looked abandoned) and a landscaping/nursery yard.
You have to make an appointment, all the info you need is right here on their website or just call them

Did you call them and get directions? That's what I did. It's way off that main road, kinda hidden.
ETA;
I think I see where you made a booboo. I just looked on google maps. The gravel and mulch place is NOT where it is located. Punch the address into google maps again. Look where it has the "A" indicating it's location. That's not it

. It's on the other side of Sparkleberry lane. You can see a gravel road leading to it the building, where Mill Field Road ends. Look for the blacktop road.
ok! Now that makes sense... I didnt go down that direction because it looked like a dirt road that simply went to a loading dock. I didnt even notice the fence at the end of the dirt road, let alone the tarmac beyond it.
I'll try again this week, everyone.
Call them in advance - most of the LDS canneries are run by volunteers and they want you to make an appointment.
Do they allow none members in? I heard that they had stopped due to people abusing the system and reselling the products.
Thank you

Some times they will stop letting in non-members. Normally it is when there is something big happening that takes a lot of food- ie Haiti, tsunami,.. They are a big supplier to things like that but unlike the Red Cross, they don't jump in front of camera and yell "See us helping? Send money!"

How does this work? Do you just show up with food and they can it for you in the #10 cans? I noticed they had prices for prepackaged items and for packing supplies... but nothing immediately about canning services.

Call and make appt..
They have bulk food. You purchase the bulk food and use their machines to seal the food into #10 cans(if you want). You don't bring food there. Although, I believe they will loan out the canning machines, if you have bulk food at home that you need canned.
When I went, I had all intentions of canning my own food, but they were so busy, they asked if it was okay for me to buy the pre-canned stuff. I said no problem. People where waiting in line to use the canning machine.

I have been a few times to the one here in NC. Best plan so far: Items that they sell prepacked- buy these. The cost difference is small. Then can up the items that they don't prepacked. Don't waste your time on doing spaghetti. It takes to long to get it to fit in the cans. Try to limit the items that you are canning to 3-5 different things. You have to do a clean up between each item and that takes time.
