Well, I have taken a job, and will be relocating to NC. I have spent many days in that state before, in my time with the Corps. The only issue I have is finding a place to live, the restrictions I have are some where near the I-40 and I-95. They said somewhere near a town named Rocky Mount. Can anyone guide me to some decent areas near these guidelines, or give me some info on these. I am mainly concerned that I am not moving near the "hood" or the "bad side" of town. I am sure everyone knows what I mean. I would be traveling a lot with this job, and I don't want to have to worry that family is in a shady part of town....I know things can happen everywhere but piece of mind is best. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone live in or near Rocky Mount, and could tell me about the town? I found some apartments and townhouses for rent. I just want to get someone's viewpoint who either lives there or near it.
Thanks!

I don't live near there, but I have been through Rocky Mount quite a bit. I have never been impressed, it is a hole in my opinion. I would look for somewhere outside the city limits.

Rocky Mount is right on I95, and it not that bad but there is a rough part of town. I have not lived there, but have been thru Rocky Mount a few times . You may want to look 15 mins west of Rocky Mount at Zebulon or Wendell. Your close enough to Raleigh for the airport, gun shows, and city stuff, but still away from the traffic and crap of being right on I95.
