I have never been to a gun show before and heard about the one coming up in Greenville SC next weekend. I have heard mixed reviews about it and was wondering if it was really worth the money to go to it. Do they have a good selection of gun parts (specifically AR) or is it pretty much an indoor flea market? Is it vendors or individuals? Thanks for your input.

Also I am new to the forum and am wondering what this "BFL sighting" means.

The Greenville gun show is the gun show to go to in South Carolina. This show is now in a new hall and it can go to 600++ tables now. It's huge - the biggest gun show in South Carolina for sure. You gotta pay the City of Greenville $4 to park anywhere near the TD Center & admission is now $7. I think if you go to the SCACA web site there is a $1 off coupon you can print?

This gun show has some big vendors. And it has some Mom & Pop operations as well. Not too much beef jerky or any crap like that. No Barbie dolls, ginsu knives, etc. Bring cash because plenty of people still live in the stone age (they don't process plastic). The ATM machine is there but if memory serves you have to exit the building and walk around the block??

We are SCGUNCO and we mostly sell milsurps - been doing it for 3+ years now and we just opened a small shop in Greer SC. As you come in the door @ the show hang a left. The first table is Upstate Armory Group (UAG) - see Jason for AR15's. The second table is us - see us for milsurps!

Shameless plug: www.scgunco.com (new website too)!

If it's the gunshow that they have at the TD Center (formally Carolina First Center), they are usually pretty good. I usually drive over from Spartanburg when they have them. I'll be out of town next weekend so I won't be able to make it.

BFL is Bolt Face Logo (the AR15.COM logo) that people put on the back of their cars with a sticker. BFL sighting is just that, when someone spots one around on the back of a car.

I have seen a few of these and brass knuckles at one table before.....

ETA: I can vouch for SCGUNCO: If you like Milsurp stuff, they are the guys to see. I bought an SKS from them at the show before Christmas and it's been a great gun. They usually have bunches of Mosin Nagants and other milsurp stuff...

Thanks for the info. I am going to be driving from Greenwood and wanted to make sure it is worth the drive. Not looking for anything in particular. Just trying to find some deals.

It's a decent show, don't expect any crazy low prices unless you happen to find something in a bin at one of the individuals tables. You should find plenty of AR stuff but expect normal retail prices or a few bucks cheaper, basiclly your saving the cost of shipping. I usually just end up buying reloading stuff since it saves the $25 hazmat fee. Also saves you about $40-$50 if you pick up a lower vs transfer+shipping.

Go HERE for a $1 off admission coupon. You can use one for each person in your group.

If you see one of these on a car, you had a BFL sighting

Just trying to find some deals.

So you will buy anything as long as its a deal?

If you've never been, then sure-you owe it to yourself to attend!

As mentioned, the 'deals' you may find are pretty much what one would expect to find on-line minus shipping. No BIG savings and it seems to me that a great deal is marked MSRP+?

remember to check in with DOGolden-a really nice dude!

That said, I usually go, tow a few of the kids with me, and get about 1/3 of the way thru when they begin the 'my feet are killing me-can we go home now' thing......ahhhh

Go & Enjoy-it's a good way to exercise your inalienable rights!

Just don't let the guys running the shows see you hawking people before they get inside as they frown upon door hawking.
