eastern NC 4x4 wheeling
so ive googled the hell out of this, and still dont come up with anything. everyone says there is nothing within 3 hours. im in the jacksonville area and me and a couple buddies are lookin to take the trucks and jeeps and go muddin. but apparently everything is private property around here. so i come to arfcom for help. does anyone know of any areas that are open in the eastern nc area, not 3 hours from jacksonville? hard to believe theres absolutely nothing with all the lifted 4x4 trucks and jeeps around. any ideas?
Where is uwaharrie maybe I spelled it wrong isn't that in nc?
yes it is, but its about 3 hours away or so. was hoping for something closer.
As mentioned Uwaharrie is going to be the best. Other than that there are some other places but they are for ATVs and SXS.

Is Croatan National Forest still open to ORVs? I used to go wheelin with a bunch of Lejeune Marines and they would go to Croatan to go play in the mud. I've never been but they said there were a bunch of trails back there.

This I use to bear hunt there and there was always some good mudding
last i checked croatan is off limits for trail riding in most areas, and a few of the roads (catfish lk rd for sure) are off limits for Marines to be on unless hunting or fishing.

Why would they be off limits for Marines
no mudding around here I know of(fort bragg) but some pretty decent rock crawling

Marine corps sets off limits areas when they feel it's too dangerous or the area or place leads to Marines getting in trouble. I have a whole lists of places in the area I cant go per orders. Certain parts of the croatan are on that list because of vehicle accidents involving Marines.

Where the hell are you wheeling at, UNF? Ain't a damn legit rock left in NC since they closed Tellico.
