I just received an offer to go to NC for deer hunting later this year. I am wondering if I can use my .308 DPMS panther ap-4. I have checked the NC wildlife website but they are not to clear on semi-autos. I am hoping one of you guys can help me out with this. Thanks in advance.

Deer hunting is illegal in NC as they are on the endangered species list. Just kidding. Semis are GTG, but I'm not sure on mag capacity, might want to bring a 5 rounder just to be safe. Good luck!

I haven't been able to find a mag capacity limit either. I know a guy who uses a high cap when he goes but he is a crappy shot and probably needs 20 rnds. I use a 5 rnd just to be safe.

Thanks guys, This is just what I wanted to hear. I have 4 rd mags that I use here in FLA. I have not needed my 19 rd mags for deer so I am GTG.

also...imho.... unless you are shooting at extreme distances on an open field, the most you'll get off is one shot standing and attempt another at em running. 5 should be plenty. i load my muzzleloader before i walk in and don't take anything else and never had a problem either.....

When I went through my hunter safety class I asked the instructor and he said there is no mag cap limit on hunting deer.

Also I believe that you need to go through NC hunter safety course to hunt here.

i bet if you can provide a copy of another states hunting license you'd be grandfathered. i took hunter safey in jr high school, but my dad never has. he just shows one of his old licenses to get a new one.

I have my FLA. hunters safty cert. Would this be acceptable or a copy of my FLA. license?

BRING the hunter safety cert––the out of state license is useless to try and get a non-resident hunting license here.

What's your wager??

I can use some easy money
ETA:
Your dad also has a WRC ID# tied to him in the state system.
