PSA: Gunner's Firearms Customer Appreciation Day (S of KC) Done.

I've seen gun shops run promotions, but this one's a bit different...

May 19th is Gunner's Firearms "Customer Appreciation Day." They're going to be running discounts on everything in the store. There's also going to be raffles for swag from different manufacturers and there'll be free hot dogs. That all seems normal.

There's also going to be representatives and additional stock from various manufacturers there. The guys behind the counter are still working on the details but so far they've got-

Represented:
CZ
Springfield Armory
Mossberg
Benelli
Legacy Arms? (Legacy has expressed interest in being there, but they have not been able to confirm whether or not they'll make it.)

Additional promotional stock without representation:
Ruger
Sig Sauer

The guys at Gunner's are also trying to get Smith and Wesson to come out, but they haven't received a response yet.

Hunting for Heroes will also be there doing some fundraising. They're talking about doing a "wall of guns" style raffle system similar to what was done at the NRA convention.

Also, Gunner's Firearms is considering running their own gun giveaway. The tentative plan is that for every $100 spent, a customer will receive a ticket which will be entered into a drawing (or series thereof).

Disclaimer: I am not a representative of Gunner's Firearms. Any info I get is probably a few days old and/or subject to change. I'll try to keep you guys up to date as I learn new details.

Fixed.

Yes, that's the correct address.

Had a good time at the one last year.

They were giving away exploding ink pens and pencils.

That's really a pretty good gun shop. I went in on a sunday awhile ago and was treated like a real customer and was asked if I needed anything and what I was looking for in a very professional manner. I thought it was because I rolled up in a Cadillac and they thought I'm well off or something but that was not case. While I was browsing around every customer that came in was treated the same way.

They have a nice selection of holsters and quite a few mags and accessories that don't seem to be available at a lot of shops in the KC area. Many black guns there too but most stores do nowadays. I felt guilty being there because I was just killing time to go to another dealer there in town who had a much better price on a G26 than they did. I did spend a little over hundred bucks on a few things so my latent Jewish guilt was eased a bit.

I'm not affiliated with them at all and I'm sure not shilling for them. I'm just passing on my experience like I wish everyone would do whether it be a good or bad experience.

I was there today and picked up a CMMG lower from them. They have always been helpful when I've been there.

They're a good store. I bought my GSG from them, and went back for a couple mags. I am really close to buying an M&P, so they'll probably get that money as well.

HOwever, I am a bit busy on the 19th. (Getting married. yeah, I know!)

You should seriously consider rescheduling so you don't miss out on those gun give-away tickets.

I've got a rifle waiting in their back room simply for that reason. I really want to bring it home now, but I also want the tickets.

First world problems...

They've told me two of the guns to be given away are a Ruger 10/22 and a Stoeger double-barrel shotgun.

I stopped by today, and they gave me some final details.

Everything in the store will be 10% off.

They've also cut some prices looking to move some DPMS Oracles, S&W M&P Sport (ARs), and XD subcompacts.

They've accumulated a metric shit-ton of inventory in anticipation of a large turnout. IIRC, they say they've taken delivery of over 150 guns in the last week. They've had to do a lot of reorganizing and rearranging to make stuff fit.

You know the rule. Post a picture of your new wife or it did not happen...

Good times were had. They sold a lot of guns.

S KC just became a safer place to live.

There was a bit of a difference between what they thought was going to sell well and what actually happened.

Including the discounts, they had those DPMS Oracles priced at ~$620 before taxes. They didn't sell as well as anticipated.

On the other hand, their Dan Wesson line pretty much evaporated at the beginning of the day. That's saying something because they have a good relationship with CZ USA and usually have a good selection.

They brought in some extra Jimenez pistols because they tend to sell well. Today, they didn't. One might say that the average Jimenez buyer doesn't like buying guns during a high-profile event.

They gave away a CZ P07 Duty, a Stoeger Cougar, a Ruger 10/22, a Stoeger Uplander, a Benelli Nova, and a Mossberg .22lr lever gun. One of the other regulars edged me out on the raffle for the Uplander. I think I'm going to give that guy a lot of crap in the next few weeks.

There was also a shit-ton of swag being raffled off. I rolled out with t-shirts from CZ and Ruger.

The Mossberg display left me baffled. I don't understand how one company can produce a thing of beauty like the MVP 5.56mm bolt gun (do want ), and abortions like the geardo lever gun and the "chainsaw."
