I went with thefreshman991. Register then go upstairs and get your souvenier name tag. The NRA store is worth a visit. Lots of NRA logo'd goodies.

We hit the Surfire display right away. Got 3 sets ear plugs and figured out that some of their reps have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to flashlights....

We were walking around and I looked to my left and Matt Hughes was standing next to me, he was just browsing the show like everyone else. I said "Matt Hughs!" we shook hands, I was totally tounge tied. What a great high school / collegiate wrestler and MMA champion. That was really neat, I knew he was there promoting OTIS but it was cool to just see him walking around with "the folks"....

Anyways, we were there for a good 8 hours. I got lots of swag and literature. Bought three items. Voodoo Tactical THOR Pack for the show special price of $80, retail is $159 and the cheapest you can find one online is around $130 plus shipping. If your looking for a pack it's a steal. It's put together very nice. I also got their Ergo Pack. The third item was an NRA Don't Tread mouse pad, I had to get something NRA..... Fountain Sodas are $5 so if you are cheap skate like me catch some water on the way in. I got thirsty but wasn't shelling out the 5 clams.

On the second to last isle before leaving we were walking by the Armed Citiizens Self Defense Fund table, I picked up a booklet and was moving along when I noticed a gentleman sitting at a smaller table on the corner, I recognized him immediately, it was Massad Ayoob.... I went over to the table and thanked him for the many written articles and his appearances on TV that have influenced me for many years. We shook hands and he signed a picture of himself for me. Massad is a legend in the training world.

Tired feet was met with a sit down at Ruby Tuesdays to discuss the day and eat some food. Great time.

Here's my SWAG and such!

I jumped the river and went today too. Great show!

Spoke to a lot of reps and had mostly good experiences but I did speak to one guy at Ruger that was kind of a jerk. As expected, the guys at Sierra Bullets were great. The Hornady guys were good too but I was surprised that they do not offer tours of their plant like Sierra does. The Hornady guy that I was talking to actually made it sound like shooters weren’t welcome to simply drop by. Hopefully the experience that I had was nothing more than talking to someone in a poor mood.

Glad I went today instead of waiting for the weekend. The crowds weren’t too bad. Parking and travel in and back out was uneventful as well.

You should've snagged a dozen of those 5-hour energy drinks and gotten all hopped-up.

My suggestion as someone that works close to the convention center, get off 70 eastbound at Hanley and take the train. Well worth it, just get off at the convention center and you are right there.

The wife and I are planning on being there close to 1000 in the morning. Hopefully the parking wont be so bad. There is a Birds game and a Blues game this afternoon/evening so I am sure it is a mess today.

Hopefully parking wont be too bad in the morning. Any of you guys got any tips?

Dang, I wish I could get over there! I went to the one they had in KC about ten years ago. It was awesome.

Best tips was given by ErikO. Take the train. Cant CCW in the dome anyway, might as well take the train and beat the parking lot crowd. And the longer time on the train will balance out the longer time it takes you to find a parking place and hike in from the lot to the dome.

just don't fall asleep on the train or you will end up at the casino.

Yeah, it was busy.
Only saw one person I recognized and he lives 5 miles from my house. Howdy Bob!

Did see a tan BFL t-shirt, but whoever it was moved too quickly for me to get his attention.

Didn't see everything but the wife and little ones were getting tired.

Got into a fender bender on the way home. My van is messed up a bit, but the Buick Lacrosse I collided with is probably totaled. Thanks to the two STLPD officers H. and R. who responded.

Other than the broken car parts and attendant anxiety it was a good day.

You would have no problems CCW inside the convention but if you go to any of the speakers or theators there are metal detectors there. I was glad to see they were walking the lines to let people know they would be going through a detector. I was pleasently surprised.

Thats funny we ran into cbr954 and his father right there and was talking to him at the Kimber booth. You must of saw us right as we took off from there.

We had been there since little before 8 AM and was trying to finish one stretch of the show before we went out to grab some lunch. We headed out for a break shortly after we passed the kimber booth up.

We parked about three blocks away in a lot across from the Drury Inn. Parking cost $10. The three of us in the van would have paid that much in Metro fees. Parking really wasn't an issue.

I parked in the same lot three years ago (or whenever the last time the NRA convention was in St. Louis).

My advice: Don't hug the right hand lane when you get off the highway. You'll be turning left into the lot. There was all sorts of traffic stacked up (3-4 blocks) in the right hand lane. I pulled out and drove down the street, turned left at a street right before the lot, pulled in and had my choice of spaces. As we walked the 2-1/2 blocks to the convention center we passed the huge line of cars trying to drive down to the center.

Just got back home from the show. Great show, lots of big names walking around the center.
Traffic and parking was suprisingly manageable. Was able to find parking a couple blocks from the center.

Never saw an SKS pistol before...

Didn't see the tapco booth either well seen it, but did not hit it...

Now that you mention it, I saw several SKSs in various booths and a brochure someone was handing out had them in it... I did find that Odd...

Sorry to hear about your accident. That is a bummer.

We parked at the casino and it was free. Only 3-4 blocks from the venue.

Also ran across Smullen and Nolo while there.

I went back again today with the wife. I know lambo was going to go too or was thinking about it but haven't talked to him today yet.

There were a few things out that were not setup on Friday when we went through the show. Magpul had a VW Bug van at there booth and was handing out posters they didn't have those on Friday. I also noticed the magpul 4x4 wasn't out at one of the entraces today either. Got more swag that wasn't out on Friday and bought a few things.

A lot of prices were slashed from Friday's show on just about everything that was for sale. Voodoo Tactical was out of just about everything.

Didn't see any famous people today but the gunny was still at the glock booth. Was a light crowd today I was surprised was way more people on Friday than today.

Ran into bwideman on the way out as we were walking in.

Yea I went back today with Spearfisher/John and my Bud Tom...

We ran into Kujoe, he was the only one from Arfcom I saw today... I was sportin a HTF shirt, and a Larue hat with a BFL pin....

I thought we covered alot yesterday, but I can't beleive how much crap I missed... I picked up two rolls of 40 Targets each for 20.00 a roll... Went to to see if I could find some deals at Voodoo booth after hearing about some deals from folks here, they were about out everything and the crap they had, they would not sell till 4:00pm for some reason... They said, we are sellin everything off at 4.... I'm like WTF, I wanna buy a riflecase and backpack now and then GTFO... So, fail on my part...

Good thing I guess I did not really have the moeny...

We did get too see Chris Reed from last seasons Top Shot... Shook his hand and got an Autograph and Pic taken with him... Hard too tell, but he seemed like a really nice guy..

Anyone get a look at that 12'+ tall Gunsafe that holds like 300+ guns? 15K, plus free shipping... I could hardly reach the dang Combo on it...

I got there a little before noon. As I was cruising in to the exhibition I saw bjtraz out of the corner of my eye doing registrations, I stopped and said hi. Sure enough, he had on his ARPC shirt! A careful examination of the $80 pack this weekend reenforced my opinion of it's quality and the great deal that was had. My main mission was to swap the Ergo Pack and some cash for another $80 pack. Unfortunately, it was not in the cards as they had been picked dry...... I traded Voodoo back the Ergo pack (which ended up being more of a man purse and not really something I would use) for a pair of shooting gloves, a sling, and a cool looking Voodoo Tactical shirt in return. I didn't stay long, I blew by the Smith & Wesson setup and grabbed another M&P hat and then backtracked over to the Surefire booth for some more of those fancy smancy FREE Surefire ear plugs...... I made one last stop. I went to the KA-BAR booth, Friday they had some fighting knives for a show special of $40, luckily they had some left and I picked one up. Not a bad deal at all considering they run $60 to $70 shipped online. I have always wanted one.

All in all it was sweet. I may even consider a road trip to one of the future NRA conventions....

It wasn't as bad as it was Sat, but by the time we left, I was gimpin again... Also I think today, were were only there for about 1/2 maybe less of what we were there on Sat...

I can walk pretty good, but hours on it, a buncha steps or steep inclines is a recipe for some gimpin...

Won't stop me from come down to the cabin next time I get a chance though... I'll tryin to get down sometime in the next few weeks...

I went with my dad and brother on Friday and I was pretty impressed. I picked up enough literature that I was able to kick back on the couch and look at gun pron all day yesterday.

The coverage that I saw on KRCG this morning devoted a minute or two to the handful of d-bags that were protesting, but seemed to miss the part about there being x-thousand responsible gun owners inside the convention. Hard to believe from CBS...

Did anybody get a pic of the "rep" at the Nuge Ammo booth?? I don't think that she was 100% factory OEM...

There was a time that I would have been disappointed that the local media would be that slanted, but I pretty well expect it now.

On the Nuge "rep", all I can say is you missed out.

Did anybody get a pic of the "rep" at the Nuge Ammo booth?? I don't think that she was 100% factory OEM...

Sad, bout would you expect anything else from a news station or paper?

I seen the booth, but musta missed her...

There was a time that I would have been disappointed that the local media would be that slanted, but I pretty well expect it now.

On the Nuge "rep", all I can say is you missed out.
I'm sure you have pictures.......Right?

Well you know he does, it's the ARFCOM way !

I are dissapoint. I was so awestruck by her knowledge of ammunition that I could not operate my camera phone.
