Family trip to KC with ankle biters
Mrs. Gerfungerpoken booked a room at the Sheraton at the Crown Center for 1 day next week. Just to do something different. Kids are on Spring break, so I need to know what's fun to do in KC with 4 ankle biters ranging in age from 7 years to 20 months. What kind of awesome, yet budget, family stuff can we do there?
Kc zoo
National airline history museum
Nelson Atkins art museum
Paradise park
Union Station
WW1 Memorial
The best bet would be Union Station/ Science City or Kaleidoscope.
Kaleidoscope
Steamboat Arabia Museum is my favorite museum. It is owned by a small family that Arfcommers would love to support.
What areas should be avoided? Where should I not accidentally drive to?

Both of these are within walking distance. Avoid anything east of crown center. There is a jack stack BBQ behind union station. awesome place. Go up in the liberty memorial too. The kids will like it. There is a cool Lewis and Clark monument near 10th and Jefferson. Its at the top of a huge bluff overlooking the river. You can see for miles. It's at the northwest corner of downtown.

Anything in Jackson or Wyandotte counties.

The area surrounding the Zoo... basically all of it.
Thanks for all the replies!
Now maybe one more thing... so KC is known for its BBQ and its steaks, right? Well, in the ARFCOM tradition, I must have both. What's a very good steak near the Crown Center for a decent price? Remember, I'll have the ankle biters with me. I'll be dressed casual, and I don't want anybody crumbing my table

Union station and Liberty memorial are both cool. Don't go east much from there. It drops off pretty fast.
