Instructions on obtaining a suppressor........... Missouri

Ok, I am a newb and need some instructions. I live in MO and I am a store front and have had my 01 FFL for 17 years. I think I may try getting a suppressor and need instructions on what to do. Can someone direct me where to look for what I am going to have to do in order to get one. I have searched the ATF website and found the NFA pages but I am confused. I have read/searched here and only came up with the information on the LLC.

Is the $200.00 tax stamp always required wheter you are a LLC or not?? The way I read it is the LLC only eliminates the need for a CLEO signature..?

I am sure that most on here had to start like I am doing.....without a clue as to what to do first. I would like a step by step set of instructions for an 01 FFL to obtain a suppressor.

Thanks!!!

If you are going to all that trouble to make the link hot, you should also add some cool text...

Link to NFA thread with "Cool Text" Added to the hot link

Since you already have your FFL you are good to go in MO. A suppressor can be transferred to you on form 4. The need for CLEO signature, fingerprints and photos will depend on whether your business is a corp.

What suppressors are you looking at?

Well, at the moment I have been looking for a weapon first. I do not want to spend a fortune on this little project so it looks like I will go with a Ruger 22/45 and then go toPac-Lite for the barrel and suppressor.

Are you looking at one of the TS suppressors?

I have not seen them tested yet or got to compare one to any of our demo sppressors yet.

If you get one of these check and see if gemtec still has uppers that are allready threaded and have the front sight set back. I got one in august for a little more than 200 bucks I think. here is the thread Gemtec spring sale and near the bottom you will see what I am talking about. On the 15th of Dec someone asked if they still had them and he says yes.

Is the process for getting a supressor the same as a SBR (that's where the link goes to - not being a smart a$$)? If so, I might play this game. I don't really have any desire for a SBR, but I'd love to have a supressor so I could play with the bigger toys without annoying the neighbors. I just didn't want to do the whole LLC thing. I'll do a class 3 in a heartbeat (need to anyway for the Brownells discount).

I'm thinking that getting a suppressor may be very similar to getting a SBR. I am not a LLC so I will go with the CLEO signature.

So now if I were to buy a suppressor do I just send the form to the place I am buying it from or does the suppressor have to be sent to a class 3 dealer and I get it from them. Since I am just a 01 dealer I am thinking they cannot send me an NFA item, it has to go to a class 03 dealer.

The procedure for purchasing NFA (National Firearms Act of 1934) weapons (and suppressors are indeed NFA weapons) are all the same. If the suppressor is in another state, it will have to go class 3 dealer (location state of item) to class 3 dealer (Missouri) and then form 4 to you.

Go thru Sub-MG if you are close to KC. Real easy to deal with, and has an awesome NFA examiner assigned to him.

I sent the form4 for a silencer thru Sub-MG the same day as the form 4 for another siklencer thru another local good guy. Sub-MG's examiner had my silencer's stamp to me a month or more ago....my other silencer is still pending. Both silencers went pending Oct. 9th after being mailed early September.

With NFA stuff you will learn plenty about being patient.

We have the SWR Warlock, SWR Spectre and the YHM Mite in stock currently for the .22LR. I also have a TM integral 10/22 suppressed barrel in stock. A local customer ordered it but he is in a pinch now and wants to sell it. You can remove the suppressor baffle stack from the barrel for cleaning.
